Dedicated dog lover
Pet care experience
I rescued my first dog in 2014 from a local shelter and I cared for him into his golden years until he passed away in 2022. Since then, I have been fostering rescues until they find their forever homes. Rescue dogs typically come with unique behavioral challenges due to the trauma and often inadequate care they received before being taken into shelter. I have worked with certified trainers to learn how to help these animals feel safe and cope with their new environment. My philosophy is that with patience, dedication and remaining attuned to their unique needs, it's possible to help our furry friends live out their best lives.
Reviews
We are so happy to have found Reid to look after our dog Maia while we were away on holiday. Maia is an anxious dog who thrives on human attention and needs consistency in her daily routine to reduce her anxiety, so Reid stayed at our place and cared for her while we were gone. He took her to the dog park every day for exercise and social interaction with other dogs, and followed our instructions for her care and feeding. Based on the updates Reid provided, she seemed to bond well with him and adjusted well to the disruption caused by our absence. Although there were no expectations with regard to housecleaning, we were pleasantly surprised to come back to a clean and tidy house, dishes done, and used towels laundered and folded. I would highly recommend Reid for any pet-sitting services required.
Reid was excellent he looked after my fur babies and my house. I will definitely be using him again. Thank you Reid you definitely made our trip better by not having to worry about Bella and Duke. Thank you once again for everything you did. Tracy and Lane
Reid is the best! Rambo always comes home happy and well cared for - thanks Reid!
Reid is an approachable, caring, and responsible sitter. After having two previous in-home sitters within the last 4 months who couldn't follow our care instructions (meal times, medication schedule) and were dishonest with us (we have a camera, so what we saw upon review post-sit didn't correlate with what either of the sitters told us), my husband and I were skeptical that we would find a sitter that would fit our needs. Reid renewed our faith that there were capable sitters out there. From our initial meet & greet, to the correspondence prior to the first sit, and the updates during their stay in our home, they had a very calming, approachable energy that set our minds at ease. Reid is a courteous, conscientious, and caring human that has allowed us to breathe a bit easier and trust that our anxious Shih Tzu Lola is PROPERLY taken care of! We already have two other sits booked with them in the next couple of months and we have every confidence that they will continue to provide excellent care while we are away. They are the "real deal"!

I live in a ground floor condo (no stairs) with no other animals and easy access to trails and parks to provide fresh air and exercise. Whether you choose to board your pet with me or have me come to you, I will ensure the most seemless experience possible so your fur baby feels safe and secure at all times.
Information Reid B. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know ahead of time if your dog has any allergies or requires medication, as well as any unique behavioral challenges such as separation anxiety or reactivity to other animals, people, etc.
A typical day
There are plenty of quiet trails to walk your dog in north Edmonton and surrounding areas that will provide lots of physical and mental stimulation. I love reinforcing and teaching new tricks to promote mental stimulation and create a healthy bond/sense of safety and security. Playing fetch with a ball or Frisbee are also personal favorites of mine!
