Pet care experience
Hi there! I'm Reece and I've been worked professionally in the pet care field since 2017. I have worked at and managed multiple doggy daycares and boarding facilities across the Black Hills and in 2022, took the leap into veterinary medicine. I have cared for everything from young puppies to senior dogs with medical needs. I can administer medications and/or insulin as needed. Safety, comfort, and cleanliness are my biggest priorities when it comes to pet care. Whether your pup needs a fun-filled daycare day or a slow-paced day with glucose monitoring, I'm your gal!
Reviews
Reece was very communicative throughout the day, with updates on my pups. I asked her to keep my girls last minute, and she was able to take them in for the day. I’d recommend her and will definitely utilize her services again!
Reece has extensive experience as a professional pet caregiver. Over the years, she has provided care for horses at two different trail ride businesses. Then she was employed by two boarding facilities; one for dogs only, the other for dogs and cats. Her most recent experience has been as a vet assistant at a local animal hospital. Reece prepares rooms and pets for various procedures. She also is an empathetic guide for owners as they make end of life decisions for their fur babies. This love of animals has been evident since she was a child. Currently, Reece is a pet mom to two Corgis and two Russian Blues. She assures they are up to date on well checks, vaccinations, and other medical needs just as a mother would for her children. Reece is knowledgeable regarding pet health, nutrition, and medication. She is our go to person whenever we have questions or concerns about our pets' health.
Reece has excellent experience in animal caretaking from her position as a veterinary assistant. She is trained in animal first aid, including cpr and is very familiar with many pet medications. She is one of the most compassionate people I’ve had the pleasure of working with and she will treat your animal as if it were her own. Her attention to detail, ability to multitask and veterinary knowledge would make her a great fit for multi pet households or special needs animals.

At my home, dogs will be cared for and loved as if they were my own. I can provide meals and medications whenever necessary. Your pup(s) will have access to our 1/3 acre fenced-in backyard and the first floor of our home. Your dogs are welcome to interact with my personal dogs with proof of up-to-date vaccinations including Rabies, DAPP/DHPP, and bordetella. I provide plenty of activities throughout the day with toys, snuffle mats, lick pads etc and a nap time after lunch. Tours are welcome! During drop-in visits at your home, I try to mimic your pup's normal routine as much as possible. I plan to feed meals when you usually would, administer medications when they'd usually receive them, and go on outtings when they usually would. Whether you crate your pup or let them roam, it's no problem for me! I believe that maintaining a familiar routine is a great way to keep them comfortable while their family is away.

Information Reece K. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for your pet, it's important for me to know of any health conditions, allergies(food or environmental), or behaviors(resource guarding, food aggression etc) they may have. I'll also ask for the name/business of your primary veterinarian in case of emergency.
A typical day
During a typical day, I'll start off with letting the pups sniff around the yard, go potty and settle in. Once they've acquainted themselves with all the smells, we'll head inside for breakfast or a treat. After a short rest, the remainder of the morning will consist of slow, gentle introductions between the dogs(unless your dog's more of a solo player). Once I've determined appropriate playmates for the pups, we will continue with outdoor play time. After lunch time, dogs will get the chance to take a nap or have some down time inside for about an hour or more if necessary. I can always adjust playtimes, playmates or nap times based on your dog's needs. After their nap, we will enjoy more time in the yard or inside with tons of toys.
