Pet care experience
I am very familiar with special needs such as separation anxiety, reactivity, and epilepsy from personal experience. I do my best to provide a force-free, fear-free experience as much as possible. I have dog handling experience from owning special needs dogs, boarding friends' dogs, driving transport for Mercer / Loaves & Fishes, volunteering with veterinary clinics, and also interning at UCD. I've done some reading on dog training on my own time (Horowitz, McDevitt, Naismith) as well as a course on animal behavior in 2013 as part of my undergraduate studies.
Reviews
Rebekah loves dogs and she will care for your dog like its her own child. Rebekah helped us walk our dog once a week. She was very consistent and great a communicating when she couldn't make it out. My dog still lights up when she sees her.

Skills
Safety, trust & environment
As someone who used to have an epileptic, I always have an ear out. My flex is having zero accidents with a puppy that wasn't housetrained! Any time I do need to completely focus on another task, I use crating as a management tool.

Information Rebekah L. would like to know about your pet
• Temperament, quirks: shy? enthusiastic? Doesn't like to be scratched a certain way or approached from a certain direction? arthritis? • Rules and expectations: sitting before going through doorways, for example? • Commands: hand signals?
A typical day
Most of the enrichment at my house will be sniffing and chewing. I prefer to use edible chews like pig ears, bull sticks, or fish skins if I have them (no rawhide or bones/antlers) but if calories are a concern, we can also "recycle" some cardboard (if you're not comfortable with it—I know some people think it may teach the dog it's okay to destroy the house—we can come up with something else). As mentioned above, there's also a decent size yard with weeds to sniff and critters to chase.

Availability
My work schedule is remote-centered, allowing me to stay home my dog all day. If needed, I usually have family nearby to tag-team errands to make sure dogs are always supervised. I feed my dog in the morning and late afternoon or early evening. I have a backyard that a dog can sniff, dig, or run around in (or sunbathe, as is my dog's wont) so I don't do walks.
