Since I was born I have had a dog in my life. The first dog I ever knew was a Cocker Spaniels. When I was 8 years old, we got our current dog which is a Rat Terrier and Pug mix. This dog had the personality of both and would be hyper and want to chase balls half of the time (Rat Terrier) but also would cuddle up on your lap and be lethargic the other half (Pug). He was a great family dog, and my sister and I learned a lot about raising dogs and how to treat them. When I went to college, I was always wanting to get a dog and have their cute face, energetic body, and unconditional love around me, but due to living on campus I was unable to get one until my third year of college. This is when I rescued/adopted my own dog. He was an overweight 6-year-old Shih Tzu mix. From that moment on I was in love, he is my lap dog and is totally fine just curling up on the couch or bathing in the sun. He has accompanied me through my 4 moves and has always been by my side, even on 9-hour car rides to see my boyfriend (now husband). My husband and I decided to add an additional member to our family a short month after our wedding, a 15 week old Miniature American Shepard. She is energetic, eager to learn and loves her big brother. With just moving to Joplin, I am hoping to meet some dog lovers, and find parks, rivers, and lakes that are great for my dogs and the dogs that I sit. I am a runner who is looking for a running buddy and would love to take your dog on a run. I am familiar with a lot of different energy levels in dogs and will base my sitting off of what your dog enjoys. I love sitting on the porch drinking water or coffee sunbathing and watching your pup and or going on a long walk on one of the many Joplin trails. If your dog loves car rides or pup-cups like mine do, I would love to do that with them too. I am eager to learn about your dog and will do research on the bread before coming to make sure I am as knowledgeable as I can be. I believe that dogs are a small way that God shows us his unconditional love, and I will do my best to make sure that your dog feels the same unconditional love from me. I grew up in Northeast Nebraska so the cold and snow do not scare me or make me not want to be outside. I also love the heat so bring on summer.
