Pet care experience
Experience I have previous experience of 7 years in pet care, 2 of which I have professionally worked as a dog walker, handler and carer under a reputable dog sitter in Singapore. I looked after 5-10 dogs each day where I ensured they were enriched through play and training and their needs were met (walking, feeding, watering) whilst ensuring all surfaces were sanitary. I also have 2 rescue dogs of my own which I have cared for (feeding, bathing, walking (both flexible and standard leads) etc) every day for the past 7 years. One of which is extremely nervous and timid, especially towards humans and sometimes other dogs, therefore I know first-hand, how to handle and meet anxious dogs. Although I look rather small, I'm stronger than I look!! As both my dogs fall into the 20kg-30kg category, I have no problem handling dogs of all sizes! Additionally, I have experience in cat sitting and the requirements and needs of a cat such as feeding, cleaning its litter tray, brushing and enriching them through play. And lastly, have looked after hamsters and guinea pigs for month-long periods therefore I understand what that also entails and would love to look after your smaller pets! Therefore, I feel like I am able to take care of a large range of pets, both small and big. Puppies and Seniors. My services include... Pet walking - I will come around, greet the pet and take them out on a walk. Pet check-ups - I will come around to your house at the requested time, take the pet for a walk, fill up the water bowl (and food if applicable) and spend time with your pet, playing/petting, whichever it prefers! Pet sitting - I would come to your house and look after your pet for however long is required and care for it (walking, feeding, washing, brushing etc) - whichever the owner has asked to do. Please note, if you would like me to 'groom' your pet, I'm only able to brush and wash it, I can't do its paws. Rebecca looked after our dog for a weekend in our house and did a truly exceptional job. She was very professional, arriving on time and leaving the house in a better state than we had left it in! She had clearly listened to everything that we had said about our dog's needs/routines and was very communicative throughout. Our dog was very relaxed when we got back and had clearly had a wonderful time (though was very disappointed when Rebecca left). Cannot recommend her highly enough.
Becky is a reliable dog walker and handler who works passionately and carefully. She assess the risks when taking my beloved dogs on their daily meander as she is aware of their behavioural difficulties yet still treats them with love and respect. I recommend Becky highly.
I have been a mentor, instructor and consultant to many new pet sitters, dog walkers and boarders due to my 20+ years of experience and also my education in animal science. I have known Rebecca for over 5 years, she is one of the very very few young adults who takes charge of the family's big and strong mutts, and really know them inside out. She has been helping me with dog walking and dog sitting during her school holidays for the past 2 years, so she has come into contact with at least 50 to 60 different dogs, ranging from mini Poodle/Terrier to German Shepherd, with different personalities and temperament. Among all the assistants I have in the last 8 years, she's the most focused, passionate and motivated individual. She really worked the dogs out, practiced reinforcing commands and spent time bonding with them. I really wish she could stay long term in Singapore to help me. She loves other animals too and has started to learn about cat sitting.
Becky really loves our dogs, Saul and Sierra and understands them very well. She knows how to make sure they don't fight over food and is good at keeping them calm when it starts thundering. Day to day, she walks them, feeds them, washes and grooms them and gives them lots of pats and attention!

Availability
I'm a student at York University and I am looking for a flexible job doing what I love, which is taking care of animals! I am at University every day but only for a few hours, therefore I have a lot of access time to fit caring for pets into my schedule. Being in such a residential area, I'm also able to access the city centre and areas surrounding very easily.
