Pet care experience
For over 10 years, I had the privilege of managing the medical care for every animal at an amazing, private, no-kill animal shelter. As the Medical Manager, I was responsible for providing quality care to more than 2,500 animals each year. From extensive, long-term wound care and bandage changes for a sweet JRT mix after she suffered a venomous snake bite, to conducting playgroups with multiple behaviorally challenged dogs, to trimming dog or cat nails, I've done it all. I am also a Certified Fear Free Professional, which allows me to help you understand your pet's behavior and provide ideas for introducing positive enrichment opportunities into your pet’s environment and routine. My training and hands-on experience allow me to understand your pet's behavior and develop unique techniques to encourage positive interactions that build trust. Patience, persistence, and consistency are required in order to set pets up for success. Happy pets = Happy humans!

Reviews

Rebecca has been so sweet to our pup and so communicative with us. I could not ask for more.

What a fantastic first experience on Rover- Rebecca was amazing, professional and very in tune with the safety/health of our dog while she cared for her(my dog recently had surgery). She was super responsive to messages and flexible . Would most definitely recommend her!!

Hands down the best sitter in Florence area.

Rebecca was excellent! She looked over all the papers I had, made sure all the cats had enough food and litter and took great care of them while I was away! I will definitely be requesting her again if I am in the need of a cat sitter! I thank her very much.

Safety, trust & environment
Throughout my many years of experience, both personally and professionally, I noticed one thing that all pets have in common is their response to disruptions in routines. Much like us, our pets feel a sense of stability in their normal, everyday routines. When that routine is disrupted by out-of-town travel plans, it is important to provide as much normalcy as possible, and that is my goal as your pet sitter. Patience, compassion, and understanding, combined with unmatched skills and a life long passion for pets, will guarantee a stress-free, positive experience for both you and your pet(s).
Information Rebecca R. would like to know about your pet
If your pet has any particular behavior concerns or medical needs, I would prefer to schedule a meet with you and your pet prior to my first visit at no cost to you. An in-home meet and greet with you and your pet is required for pets who are fearful of new people and/or pets who have a history of resource guarding such as being possessive of toys or treats, being protective of certain spaces in the home, or are barrier or leash reactive.
A typical day
All pets are different and what one likes to do, another may not enjoy. That's why I will work with you to determine what will be most beneficial to your pet during my time with them so that you can come home to a happy, healthy, loved pet.

Availability
My schedule is flexible depending on the day and times that you need, as well as, your location around the area. If you work long hours and your pup is need of a break during the day or night, I'll do my best to work with your schedule and make sure you don't come home after a long day to any more surprises! If you're going out of town but don't need someone to stay with your pets 24/7, I would love to help! My regularly scheduled dog walks and drop-ins still allow time for earlier visits first thing in the morning, late afternoon, and a late night visit which is perfect for those pets who don't require overnight supervision. I do have pets of my own so unless significant notice is given prior to the nights needed, I would have to decline in-home overnight care.
