Your Dog's New Friend!
Pet care experience
From my first job walking dogs boarding at my father's veterinary clinic to petsitting my friends' dogs and cats, pet care is second nature for me. I love dogs, and dogs know it! I am regularly told, "my dog usually doesn't like other people, but s/he likes you!" My years working in my dad's vet clinic taught me a range of valuable skills, from behavior training for new puppies to medication administration for geriatric “puppies”. I am very happy to comply with house rules regarding food and feeding: I've mixed and prepared meals for special dietary needs, kept a thoughtful meal schedule for pets and can successfully stare down any table beggars. I am happy to bike or hike with your dogs, just let me know what you need! I am a reliable and respectful house-sitter and I look forward to working with you! I am currently working a flexible, hybrid schedule--partially from home and partially at the office. I can adapt my schedule to your short- and long-term needs. For longer walks, I am an afternoon/evening or weekend stroller, unless otherwise requested. In the case of in-home and longer term pet-sitting situations I would appreciate the option to work from an owner's house in order to give more time and attention to four-legged interim "coworkers"! I cannot provide home services at this time as my apartment building does not allow pets. Offering my pet care services via Rover is a delightful way to spend time with dogs while I cannot yet have one myself. I will care for all types of pets, and am very experienced with caring for houseplants, too! I work full time but partially from home and partially from the office, which at this time allows me great flexibility for your dog’s care! I cannot offer dog-sitting services in my home at this time; my apartment is a non-pet building. That said, I keep a semi-jungle of houseplants alive, so I willkeep a careful eye on your houseplants while you’re away!
Reviews
It’s with a heavy heart I leave this review as I recognize mistakes happen, but in good conscience I wouldn’t want any other owner to endure what I did. I had used Rebecca previously, she took care of my girls, and did well. She asked to have guests, and appeared to care for my girls. While she moved an inside camera, I presumed it was due to the approved guest, and I didn’t say anything. (The camera was disclosed at the meet and greet and is in the kitchen.) During the second visit, I got an alert that someone came to my front door during the night. So I began to review camera footage - I saw she left around 4:00 PM Saturday, and when I messaged Sunday around 7:00 AM to check on her because her car had been gone the entire time, I didn’t receive a response. My inside camera was unplugged. I sent a friend to my house, when she arrived she found my garage door open (17 hours), no food or water for my dogs. My garage was frozen as it was -5 that night. When Rebecca got to my house, we spoke. She said she made the decision to stay out because she had some drinks, and knew the dogs had a dog door. My dogs were without a sitter, food and water for hours, and my garage left open. Luckily, nothing was stolen. However, my garage heater isn’t working, a mini fridge is broken, an electrical system in my garage is shot, and a freezer full of game meat also wasn’t working when I got home. Thankfully, I had a friend who could help, but being out of state I was helpless and the damage to my house is significant. I need to utilize my homeowner’s insurance before Rover helps. So, if it weren’t for outdoor cameras, I never would have known my dogs were alone or the reason my garage is having issues. Upon further review, it was apparent she had an authorized guest. Again, mistakes happen, but she unplugged an authorized camera to conceal an authorized guest in my home, and my dogs were left alone for 17 hours because she knew they couldn’t speak for themselves.
Amazing drop in visit for multiple dogs! Thank you
Rebecca was great. She exercised both my pups, tidied up and washed the sheets before she left, and communicated throughout her stay. I appreciated her communication and respect to my home. I came home to tired pups, which was a bonus!
She was great and Berger enjoyed her company.
