Skilled Sitter + Qualified Trainer

Pet care experience

I know how you feel. Finding a caretaker for your furry friends can be a challenge. I know because I’ve experienced the nerves of leaving my own pets in both kennels and with sitters. Along the way, I’ve learned a good in-home sitter is the ultimate experience for your pets as well as you. In-home sitting provides for little to no stress, no mess, and happy pets. As a bonus, there’s no need to rush to a kennel to retrieve your pet on their schedule. Your pets will be there happily greeting you when you get home! While you're away, I work hard to ensure your pets are comfortable and well cared for. As a homeowner, I also know trust is important. For that reason, I've undergone an enhanced background check. Look, Rover.com doesn't accept just anyone as a sitter, but I've chosen to go that extra mile for my clients. Over the years, I’ve shared my life with several pets (mostly dogs), each with a different personality: some happy-go-lucky, others a bit anxious. I loved them all as precious friends. In fact, I’m so enamored with dogs that I studied with Absolute Dogs to earn my Certification as Concept Dog Trainer. If that sounds complicated, it may be better said as I’m a Life Skills Coach for Dogs. This new and exciting approach to Dog Training goes beyond the sit, down, stay commands of even positive reinforcement training. That approach takes you only so far while Concept Dog training teaches Life Skills to Real Dogs, dogs like yours. We do this through special games that give the gift of Confidence, Focus, Impulse Control, Closeness, and a number of other key skills. Simply put, dogs learn what is expected of them and they in turn, make good decisions naturally. These cleverly designed games encourage dogs to learn through 100% positive reinforcement. Dogs love these games and they learn them quickly. Better still, you don’t need any special equipment. Best of all, it’s fun, easy, and seamlessly blends into your daily activities. I’ve studied for 2 years with the largest dog training facility in the United Kingdom. Better still, I remain in contact with a global community of amazing mentors and peers. We brainstorm new ideas all the time to design new games and ways to have fun with our dogs. Best of all, I have the training to work and interact with nearly all dogs, even dogs that struggle with reactivity or other troubling behaviors. In fact, it was my own dog who suffered from the inability to settle that led me on this journey. I witnessed small miracles as we learned together. Today, my Tasha is confident, happy, and skilled in the ways of my lifestyle. You may be wondering why I’m highlighting my training experience. Well, because dogs quickly learn to trust me and that matters when you’re away. As an added bonus, cats are often interested in these games, too. If they’re pals, we can even play as a family. My goal is make this experience enjoyable for your pets as well as you. I guarantee to send photos and a detailed note at the end of each visit because it helps to know how things are going at home while you’re away. Let’s set up a Meet and Greet. Tell me about your pets and your expectations. If you’re interested in learning more about Life Skills Dog Training, I’ll teach you to a game you can start playing right away. All you need is some of your dog’s dinner and a willingness to have fun. If you prefer to stick to your regular routine, that’s great! Just fill me in on the details and I’ll follow your instructions to the letter. Either way, I’d love to be of help.

Rebecca was wonderful with both our kitten and dog. She used her training to help my nervous dog feel more comfortable.

Being a first time Rover user, Rebecca was extremely helpful and very professional. Rebecca did a great job with our dog who has some special needs at the moment. She was flexible, reliable, and dependable which put our mind at ease when leaving our dog. I would certainly recommend Rebecca!

Rebecca was excellent! She came to meet us beforehand and then took great care of the dogs! I couldn't imagine anything better! Thanks Rebecca!

She is always patient and understanding with dogs and their owners, having the health and safety of the dogs as her number one priority. She'll treat your dog as her own. She's very knowledgeable about training and communcates very well with owners.

Information Rebecca P. would like to know about your pet

Tell me how much and what you dog eats. Is he a counter surfer or a couch potato? Does he pull like a sled dog or does he prefer to smell every blade of grass on walks? How does he respond to adults, kids, squirrels, other dogs? Does he take medication or have other special needs? What's his favorite toy or treat, and does he like to cuddle? You set the rules and I follow them. All breeds and all ages.

A typical day

When we have scheduled a walk, you'll receive a GPS mapping of our path around your neighborhood that includes total distance covered. If you have a preferred walking routine, let me know and I'll retrace it. Many dogs simply know the way they want to go and lead me on their preferred route! When we aren't walking, we'll go out for a potty break and then enjoy some snuggle time or play a game if you have chosen this option for your pet. I have several at my disposal to build your dogs confidence and engender calmness while stimulating her brain. The games I choose will depend on the time of day. In the morning or afternoon, I might play something with movement and action while at bedtime, I will choose soothing games that soothe your pet into a restful night. It all depends on your dog and her needs. Water dishes are refreshed at each visit and food given on your requested schedule.
