Pet care experience
Important notice, please read: I am now away in hospital, returning around mid-May and followed by a house-sitting job 23rd May - 9th June. Although I am away, I have my phone and can still chat and take bookings. Regarding meet and greets, I'd still love to do them but I will be based in Southgate and be much more limited than usual, however will try my best to do them without compromising my treatment. Once out, I am completely free all summer and looking forward to a summer of caring for dogs ♥️ For me, to take care of a dog, make sure they are comfortable, happy, either having the time of their lives racing out in the woods or just to come up and bring you a sock or rest their head on your leg brings me such joy. A well looked after dog can be a lot of work but it doesn't feel like it to me, and if it ever does because, I admit, sometimes I don't want to go out in the pouring rain in the dark for a last walk and toilet break, it's 100% worth it. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning when I have a dog boarding is to reach out for them, say good morning and have a cuddle. I can't put it into words how happy it makes me and it helps keep me healthy mentally and physically too. I understand how important your dog is and I'm dedicated to meeting their individual needs, be that how we get around if your dog is not a dog that does tube escalators - that's okay, we'll find another way - and making sure they only eat the food you give me, or checking in first. I'm focused on positive reinforcement and training (i e.sitting and waiting before they can dig in) and lots of physical affection and company, generally where I do most of the talking to the dog. When your dog is in my care, they go everywhere with me, and I modify my plans to make sure they're too when I see friends or even when I go to the GP!
Reviews
Rebecca is extremely caring, loving, and affectionate towards animals. Our dog Mylo was really well taken care of. He has hip displasia and needs controlled walks and Rebecca made sure she took care of his needs. She also made sure to keep us updated throughout the day ensuring we had peace of mind. More than a dog sitter, she is also a genuinely nice person. Happy to have her again for Mylo!
Becky is THE BEST pet sitter! TED - our senior mini schnauzer was so well cared for the whole time. We got photos and updates. She is wonderful
We (all) love Rebecca so much that we now consider her as a part of our family- she keeps simba every time we are away! There are no words for her kindness and interaction with dogs 🥰
I had to cancel due to my being unwell but wasn’t surprised to receive messages from Rebecca checking on my welfare. So typical of her kindness and thoughtfulness.

Sadly I don't have a garden myself, however my flat is clean, spacious enough, safe and quiet. I have a shower over a bath and a vat of dog shampoo for giving dogs a good scrub after a muddy walk - this is literally invaluable! I live alone with no other pets, so my environment is very peaceful. Pets are welcome to sleep either on my bed, on a selection of picnic blankets I set up in one corner so they have their own space, or in a dog bed that you bring with them. I have only ever had one or two dogs that don't sleep with me though, they just seem to hop on up and we go to sleep. I only look after one pet at any time in my flat to ensure I can focus all my attention on them, and to remove the risk of any pets not getting along! As mentioned, I have pet sat in the past for friends, family and neighbours, and am very respectful of other people's homes. I'm a very clean person in my own flat, and am therefore the same at others.

Information Rebecca O. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know as much as possible about your dog - I'm looking forward to meeting them! Include any important information (i.e. not comfortable around crowds), but also the things they like to do, anything in particular you would like from me and any quirks. As I've mentioned before, sleeping arrangements are entirely up to you but I will say that 99% of dogs sleep on my bed. Obviously I need to know their feeding schedule, any medication (I actually happen to have a pill splitter/crusher you can get from the chemist for a medication I'm on) and thier walking and bathroom needs. I will check the following with you anyway but: Something I always need to check (as I know now from experience!) is - is your dog okay on the tube, and if they are, are they okay on escalators. Are they allowed off the lead in safe areas or would you prefer for them to be kept on the lead at all times. We both need to be absolutely comfortable on this one as I would be distraught if I lost a dog or anything happened.
A typical day
If me and your dog are out on the Heath or in the woods, we'll both be happy! Rain or shine, I love being outdoors, so the day is likely to be pretty active, unless of course you have a dog that needs more rest. As I've mentioned before, where I go, the dog in my care goes - out to dinner with friends (who are very accommodating that we now always have to go somewhere dog-friendly) or to their houses, running errands, the community meetings I'm involved in, studying at a dog friendly cafe or just hanging out at home. I would much rather be at home watching a film with your dog on the weekend than out at the pub on a Saturday night, and I don't care if that makes me sound twenty years older than I am.

I am not currently working, but I study and take my classes at home or wherever I choose, which is often at the owner's house when I'm sitting for you, so I have complete flexibility to take care of and have fun with your pet! I live a five minute walk from Golders Hill Park and close to Hampstead Heath as well. Golders Hill has your nice but boring park section, and then the woodland trails which eventually lead up to the Heath in one way or another. I regularly go for walks here anyway so know these areas well. I tend to be awake early every day so we will be up and out first thing for a bathroom trip, a lap of the park and up through the woods. After that, it's pretty much dependant on your dog's needs and energy levels. I have alot of time for long walks for dogs who need 2-3 hours a day, however I understand that some dogs require far less walking time and need more rest. This is something I will always check with you at our meet and greet. I am currently studying and am able to set my own schedule to include dog care seven days a week.
