Pet care experience
❗️𝙋𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙄 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩. I've grown up all my life with furry friends: hamsters, chinchillas, parrots, rabbits, cats, and dogs. They truly add sweetness to my life. When I was a kid, I would obsessively watch Animal Planet and read all of my library book's about pet care and training. I’ve helped rehabilitate foster animals and train my family dogs through advanced obedience classes, Canine Good Citizen test, and therapy dog training through positive reinforcement, mental enrichment, trust building, and having fun! My bonds with them have been some of the most fulfilling parts of my life. I've raised my pets throughout all their life stages, as well as helping care for friends' and neighbors' pets, all of a variety of sizes, ages, breeds, temperaments, and special needs. I'd love the privilege to do the same for you. My dog Pearl is my cherished adventure buddy all across the PNW, but I too have trips I cannot take her on. I understand the stress and worry of finding care for your furry friends when those events arise, and I will strive the best I can to ease your and your pet's worries with quality care and communication, and treat them as I'd want mine to be treated. My goal is for your pets to feel as close to home as possible by following their daily care routine that they're used to and treating them as family. I will provide love, play sessions, and mental enrichment as well as meeting their daily exercise needs. They will be taken out as often as needed for potty breaks. Guest dogs as well as Pearl naturally settle into a pattern of playtime/free roam time➡️nap time➡️potty break🔁repeat throughout the day. I’m also happy to keep up with your dog’s regular grooming routine. "In Hawaiian, you don't call yourself your pet's owner. You are their kahu. Kahu has many meanings, among them: guardian, protector, steward, beloved attendant—basically, someone entrusted with the safekeeping of something precious, something cherished. What a Kahu protects is not their property. What they protect is a part of their soul."

My apartment is dog-proofed with all safety precautions considered. All possible escape routes are blocked off. Dogs will be securely leashed when let out and followed their prescribed routine and only given their provided food. Pearl is very sweet and mild-mannered, but I'll always supervise all dogs' interactions together. I send a daily photo summary about your dog's activities and well-being, and am available by phone/text/app messaging any time (my responses might be delayed during working hours but I strive to answer messages as soon as I see them). I reside between Redmond, Bellevue, and Kirkland in a very safe gated complex with slow moving cars. Your dog will love the park-like setting of the complex with a long walking trail surrounded by beautiful flowering greenery and a pond. In case of rain, there are ample covered areas including walkways and a garage we can use for outdoor exercise. They will NOT be taken out of the complex (e.g. to a dog park) due to the risks involved.

⚠️ BOARDING & DAYCARE ⚠️: Due to my apartment setting and work-from-home setup, I only host dogs under 25 lbs, do not bark excessively, and do not have separation anxiety. I only make exceptions for dogs exceeding the weight requirement if they are gentle and low energy. Since I don’t have a fenced yard, my place is best suited for low-medium energy dogs who are fully potty trained and prefer a more peaceful environment. I require dogs to be crate trained for their safety when I can’t supervise them. I can host unneutered male puppies under 6 months old, but any older must be neutered. I require dogs to be up to date on vaccines and flea/tick preventative. My rates are subject to increase for clients requiring a higher degree of care including young puppies, high energy dogs, dogs with separation anxiety, and dogs needing constant care. Unless constant care is pre-disclosed and agreed upon (e.g. for dogs with separation anxiety), I cannot host dogs that loudly and incessantly vocalize (mild, once-in-a-while, controllable occurrences are fine). My place is not cat-proofed so I will not be able to host cats in my home, but I'd be happy to do drop-ins and house sitting for them. HOUSE SITTING/DROP-IN/WALKS: I'm happy to house sit and drop-in for all kinds of animals, particularly those I usually cannot host at my place. Because my work schedule can vary day-to-day, I would appreciate flexibility in the times you want me to come. The difference between walks and drop-ins is that the walk would take the entirety of the time spent. Key pickup and drop off beyond 2 miles from me will be charged $10 each way; I would highly suggest a lockbox. For full-day and overnight house sittings, I would need to bring Pearl along. She's been a very polite and quiet guest and I can keep her separate if need be. I value cleanliness and respect and will strive to leave your home in the same or better condition than I found it. All pets must not have any history of aggression/biting and must not have any contagious illnesses. I require in-person meet and greets for new clients; this is extremely helpful for all of us. Your dog will be acquainted with me and my home and we can see how our dogs get along. I would like to know about your pet's temperament, daily care routine, feeding instructions, favorite activities, any behaviors to look out for, and any other special care instructions. Of course, you’ll be able to ask me any questions you have and make a well-informed decision about trusting me with your beloved pet. Before booking, it would be helpful to have your pet's Rover profile with care details fully filled out. Please pay attention to the pick-up and drop-off times as I will plan my schedule around them and any significant deviance may incur extra care time charges.

Availability
I'm currently on a break from full-time work and school, so I have a lot of time and love to give! I do part-time contract work completely remotely from home, so I can be home a lot during the day to keep your pet company and give frequent walks, potty breaks, and playtime. Though kindly note that I am the sole caretaker. There will be brief times your dog would need to be alone if I need to leave the house. In that case, I request that your dog is comfortably crate trained for their safety for the brief time that I can't supervise them. I strongly advise clients to bring their own crate with bed/padding inside for your dog’s comfort and familiarity. Otherwise, I have a spare medium crate as well as a large playpen. I can also accommodate for early or late drop-off and pickup times.
