Pet care experience
“The world would be a better place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog.” M.K Clinton I have been an obsessive animal person my entire life! I’ve read James Herriot and Jack London and Jean Craighead George just for the stories of dogs and their humans. I’ve taken dog obedience courses as well and have about two decades of experience caring for dogs, to include walking them, house sitting with them and even administering medicine. I am intuitive, aware and confident and have experience with large breeds (I had a German Shepherd for 9 years) as well as medium and small. I work part time as a coordinator for a nonprofit (human) adoption agency in Manhattan and do freelance work so my schedule is flexible and adjustable. All of my pictures are of dogs I’ve taken care of in some capacity.

Rebecca has cared for our pets on multiple occasions, and we have had an excellent experience each time. We have a female German Shorthair pointer (dog) and an indoor/outdoor cat. Rebecca has always taken great care of them when we were away. Our dog has separation anxiety, so Rebecca always made sure spend extra quality time with her so she didn't act out (chewing/getting into trash,etc). As a hunting breed, she also requires a lot of exercise, and Becca never failed to walk her and play with her several times a day. Our cat could be difficult to locate at times, but Becca was great about making sure he had plenty of food and water, and was very patient on cold nights making sure he was inside. I would absolutely refer Rebecca's animal care services to anyone! She is dependable and genuine in her love for animals!
I’ve been friends with Rebecca for 6 years and worked with her for 2 of those years. She absolutely loves dogs and has walked my dog/checked on her numerous times when I’ve had to work a long shift. She is responsible and I would highly recommend her for any dog walking needs.
Rebecca has grown up with a variety of pets, and as a child, would read about them and care for them diligently. She has always loved animals including snakes, rats, hamsters, turtles, dogs and cats. Trips to the pet store were never quick! She's responsible, trustworthy and knowledgeable. She has done pet sitting for over 10 years to include mine. I should know, because I trained her! I'm her Mom!

Most of my experience is with larger breeds but I have plenty of experience with medium and small breeds as well (examples- GSD, Great Danes, malamutes, huskies, labs, Carolina Dog, Mastiffs, French bull dogs, Boston terriers, chihuahua mixes, border collies, and muts of all kinds!) I would just want to know any quirky behaviors, if there’s food aggression, or things that scare them
A typical day
That will depend on the owner’s comfort level but I love to explore all the different walking paths and dog friendly parks and easy going hikes and I will of course tailor this to dog and owner’s preferences! Can do puzzle games and other cognitive reinforcement activities
