I volunteered for a summer at a humane shelter as a dog walker. I grew up owning a dog with some psychological and health issues. I’ve also been a part of a team of wildlife rehabilitation volunteers, caring for various species of native Ohio wildlife.

Rebecca is amazing! She has worked with our oldest dog for quite some time now, giving weekly walks. Recently we added a second rescue who is a bit shy. Rebecca has been so patient with her and we couldn’t have picked a better dog walker/drop-in visitor.
Rebecca was very friendly, came same days I requested her and although an icy snowy day, did a great job and made a friend with Marshmellow

I currently have 1 cat, Nora, who was very skittish when I first adopted her, but has since blossomed into a vocal and (sometimes) affectionate girl. Sissy, the dog I grew up with had one eye and severe PTSD when we adopted her from a shelter. It has taught me to appreciate giving animals their needed space while also being a source of comfort and enrichment. All of our pets have different needs and personalities, so I would be careful to acknowledge notes and suggestions from the owner combined with my own experiences to provide what each individual animal needs. This includes walking schedules, food preferences, and playtime (or cuddle time).

Please let me know if any of your pet’s preferences as far as routine, play, any special needs, behavioral or dietary specifics. I know that shy and nervous animals just need extra special attention and I want to make your pet as comfortable as possible.
A typical day
I love taking dogs for walks, and there are several parks in the area, including a dog park that would be great to let the dogs run around and burn off energy. If your dog is less sociable, we can go on a walk around your neighborhood or find a less-traveled trail to explore. We can play whatever games your dog or cat prefers, whether it’s fetch, tug of war, laser dot, etc.
