Pet care experience
I've been around cats and dogs all my life! But I've been fully responsible for pets of my own for 4 years now. I have a cat called Roger, and a whippet called Twinkle Toes. I've had Twinkle since she was 8 weeks old, so I have experience in training puppies and the extra care and attention that they need. I have an affinity with sighthounds and I understand their needs are quite different to other dogs. I can provide a suitable environment for dogs who are anxious or nervous. I am a very quiet and patient person with a lot of time and love to give to animals.

I can't think of anyone that loves animals more than Rebecca. She seems to have a natural affinity towards dogs of any kind, I would have no hesitation leaving an animal in Rebecca's care. I would be confident in her ability to take care of it's welfare as well as its comfort and security.
Rebecca has been carer for our pets) and farm animals) on many occasions and over many years. On one occasion, when we were away from home for two months, Becky cared for a dog, five cats, sheep, chickens and geese, as well as our house and garden, and all that on her own in the midst of an especially dark and stormy winter in the Outer Hebrides. After we moved to Wales, Becky undertoook the 4-day journey back to the islands to rescue our cat Tom, who had gone missing six months before our move. Rebecca has always demonstrated a remarkable empathy with all the animals in her care, as well as an aptitude for the practicalities. She is organised, reliable, and entirely worthy of trust.

I take the responsibility of animals in my care very seriously and I am dedicated, devoted and trustworthy. Your dog's needs and wellbeing will be my absolute priority. Your dog will have company at all times and not be left unattended. I have an enclosed garden and a reasonable amount of space for dogs to run around. I have a whippet who is rather timid but she does come out of her shell and interact once she is comfortable. She will be with me for all dog walking. Twinkle never leaves my side and therefore she would also be joining me for any house-sitting too. She is extremely well behaved, house trained, clean and non-shedding, and just curls up in her bed and sleeps. She gets on well with cats. Unless you can assure me that your dog has excellent recall, I would keep them on a lead at all times when out on a walk. I will update you with pictures of your dog and keep in touch throughout the duration of your dog's stay with me, so that you can be reassured that your dog is happy and being well cared for. I split my time between two properties where I live. Therefore I am available in both the Lampeter and Llanllwni area.

I will have my whippet with me, so do let me know if you think your dog may not get on with another dog being there. Twinkle is timid and shy but gets on with other dogs especially once we get walking together. I cannot take any aggressive dogs as I do not want to risk any harm to Twinkle. I also need to know how your dog is around cats. My cat will probably hide if there's a dog visiting our house. A dog that goes crazy and barks at cats may not be suitable for for boarding at my house near Lampeter (but will be fine at my property in Llanllwni). Please let me know if your dog has any dietary or medical requirements, allergies, behavioural issues, their sleeping arrangements, or any other special needs that I may need to plan for. The more information I have, the better! Communication is essential so that I can provide the best service I can, appropriate to the specific needs of your pet. A typical day
A typical day would depend on your dog's needs, and I'd plan all activities around this. I live in the countryside so there are plenty of local footpaths to walk on. However, if I'm walking your dog I will probably take them to the beach or the forest, where there is a little more freedom. If I'm walking dogs around the town, I allow them plenty of time to stop and sniff things, explore new places, as well as meeting people and other dogs, to give them the variety and social interaction they need. I can walk your dog as long and as often as it needs. At home I will keep them entertained with various activities, training and games to stimulate their mind, and there's plenty of dog toys and a small garden to run around in. They will not be left unattended for any length of time. Dogs are allowed on the sofa and on my bed. There are plenty of blankets here for them, so they can have a cosy nap and we can all snuggle up together! ☺ I spend my time painting or working on the computer, so there's plenty of down time where we can all sit together on floor cushions in front of the stove and chill.
