Dependable-Flexible-Experienced

Pet care experience

I have added 10 regular canine clients, 4 cats, two birds and countless one-time or occasional ones. I have lived in Athens thirty-three years and currently serve on the executive board of the ARK and on an advisory board for Georgia United Credit Union. I was a (human) CPR/First Aid (American Red Cross and National Safety Council) instructor for 21 years and I have taken dog and cat first aid courses. Pet care, to me, means helping the owner have no worries while they are away. It means giving the best pet care possible. I have a lot of experience with senior dogs especially ones with arthritis and hip dysplasia. I have experience with dogs with fear aggression. I will always make sure your mail and packages are secured and make sure your trash can is rolled out / put back. I care for your home and pets the way I want mine cared for.

Ray is conscientious and dependable. He worked in a professional position until March of 2020 and I’m glad he is able to take care of my dogs when I am away. I unequivocally recommend him.

Safety, trust & environment

My yard is not currently fenced, so I will always be with your dog when we are outside (there is a leash law in Clarke county). I get to know them so I can learn their nuances and personalities. I am affectionate with animals taking into consideration their comfort level. My wife is usually around to give extra affection.

Information Ray C. would like to know about your pet

I want to know unique personality traits, individual habits and likes/dislikes. Are there particular foods or activities to avoid? What situations can I help them avoid? Are there special instructions for special times?

A typical day

I live in a great neighborhood for walking. It has low traffic volume and a seven acre lake with lots of ducks and geese so dogs can fantasize about being mighty hunters of water fowl! There is lots of green space as well. I have an annual pass to Sandy Creek Nature Center and regularly take dogs there. Inside the house we have lots of clear windows, so pets can watch song birds, hummingbirds, squirrels and our human neighbors. Woods behind the house are great for exploring and “sniffing” nature. I have dog toys as well. At your home, I will get to know your furry child and we will have a great time. Pick-ups and drop-offs within 15 minutes of my home are usually available (fee based).

Availability

I am punctual by nature and a good person to ask on short notice. Available Mon-Fri and many weekends. Generally, I do not charge for cancellations. Life happens. So unless you live several miles away and I am already en route, it’s not a problem for me. My availability calendar is always accurate well into the future.
