Pet care experience
I love walking dogs and have experience in dogs as little as 5 lbs up to 180 lbs. During my volunteer time, I have handled scared jumpers, overzealous puppies, and slow, shy seniors. I have personally owned bully breeds, labs, terriers, and medium mixes. All my current animals are rescues from Spokane Humane Society, Spokanimal, and Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary. Having raised several dogs since puppyhood, I’m comfortable with all ages. I have pet sat for multiple small mixes, hounds, and gentle giant lab mixes (200+ lbs), usually 2-3 dogs/cats at a time. I like to think I am good at reading animal body language and can effectively de-escalate problems before or if they arise. I realize that dogs can nip and react out of fear/surprise and do not hold this against them. I have no breed fears and believe strongly in positive reinforcement whether it pertains to walking, potty training, or behavior issues. I’m always happy to recommend local resources that can help make us all better pet parents.

Raquel is great with all dogs. She’s well versed in any type of dog. She’s taken care and walked my own dogs with vary is size and temperament. They absolutely love her.
Raquel is a highly responsible and loving caregiver. She cared for my dog, Hercules, and cats on multiple occasions, at least one week every summer and multiple weeks throughout the year; and is always my first pick when I need a pet sitter. My dog becomes anxious when I am gone and often will refuse to eat. Raquel has created a loving relationship with my pooch and does everything within her abilities to make sure he eats. I have full confidence in her to make sure that Hercules is healthy and well cared for both mentally and physically. She also keeps me up to date about any concerns and about Hercules' overall well being. Something I greatly appreciate. I consider Raquel an exceptional pet sitter and highly recommend her services.
Raquel is a wonder! She is full of passion and love for all dogs, big or small. She is gentle, kind and patient and can easily adapt to any situation. She handles my spastic 2 year old terrier mix with ease and my older Pekingese dog Ioves her. She’s definitely capable of handling 2 different dogs with different personalities at once.
