Dog Lover & Caring by Nature
Pet care experience
Dogs have been an important, wonderful, and special part of my entire life. I've taken care of dogs for over 20 years - boarding, day care, walking, and more. It's such a joy getting to know them and share what makes them happy from belly rubs, to cuddling on the couch, taking walks in the neighborhood, or strolling through Central Park. My own dog loved all those things too, as well as volunteering with Pet Partners (previously Delta Society) - scoring at the highest level of achievement) - for 11 years at a Senior Residence and simultaneously, 6 of those years at a NYC public elementary school for children with special needs class. What a win-win-win! Please let me know if your dog has any certain behaviors or needs that I should be aware of so I can prepare for them ahead of time. I’d be more than happy to keep you updated by text and promise to send lots of photos. As a consultant, I work from home daily and on rare occasions, may have a meeting outside of my home for a couple of hours. I always keep track of the time though so your dog is not left alone for long. You can trust that I'll take care of your dog as if he or she was my own. I want your dog to have a great experience with me, so paying attention to your dog in a safe and meaningful way and following your directions will be key. If your dog Boards or does Day Care with me, we'll walk in the neighborhood or Central Park plus make time to play or nap (dog not me) when we're at home. Your dog can be comfortable either napping on the floor in the sunshine, chilling on the couch, or taking a snooze on the bed. I can easily crate your dog if you prefer (and provide the crate). If your dog has favorite toys or a dog bed, you can bring them over with your dog.
Reviews
The only way my children will go on vacation is if Randy takes care of our Cavapoo Riley. Riley loves staying with Randy, she is an extended member of Riley's family. Randy excels at communicating, caring for the dogs, sharing knowledge and experience, and keeping the dogs active and engaged. Randy is truly a gem. Randy asks all the right questions so she can prioritize that your dog is comfortable and the routine is maintained. Highly recommend!
I was extremely pleased with the incredible care that Randy gave to Cody during my weekend away. Randy's attention to detail and genuine love for dogs shone through in the wonderful photo updates she provided. Her thoughtful communication throughout the entire process added an extra layer of reassurance, making me feel connected and informed while I was away. I was left at ease with Randy's professionalism, dedication, and the fantastic experience she provided for Cody. I highly recommend Randy to any pet owner seeking top-notch care for their furry friends! I look forward to working with Randy again in the future!
Randy was an excellent sitter for Titan. I can’t say enough good things. She was extremely attentive to his needs and very thoughtful and considerate about keeping his normal routine. She asked questions before his stay to ensure she understood his personality and likes/dislikes. It was a very cold winter weekend during Titan’s stay and Randy made sure he stayed warm on walks. Randy sent regular updates and was prompt to reply to my messages as needed. I am so grateful to have found such a caring sitter for Titan. She treats dogs like family.
I always feel so comfortable when Archie is with Randy ! She is amazing , responsible , loving and tends to Archie’s every need. The weather was freezing when Randy had Archie this time and she still took him on long walks in the park and to the dog park to play fetch. She’s awesome !!

Information Randy P. would like to know about your pet
Please send me or print out your dog’s general walking and feeding routine - including food, water, and treats - and medications if necessary. How about any quirky habits? You can include those too - good or not so good plus along with anything else your dog really enjoys doing. What does your dog think of rain and snow? Let me know if your dog has certain reactions. If he/she has special clothes or boots for that, don’t forget to bring them over with your dog. Also, be sure to include the name, phone number, and location of the veterinarian you use, as well as any health information I should know in case of an emergency. (Of course, if there is an emergency, I'll contact you right away.)
A typical day
I’m looking forward to taking your dog for shorter walks in the neighborhood a few times a day and at least one hour-long walk through Central Park (on leash). Be sure to let me know if your dog has favorite places to visit in the Park. Since I work from home, we’ll probably do a bit of chatting and brainstorming, then back to the computer for me and nap time for your dog. Of course, there are break times to move around and play or simply cuddle depending on what your dog wants to do. If your dog likes dog runs, we might go visit Eleanor’s run by Riverside park or walk over and look for dinosaurs at the Museum of Natural History's dog run. If there's something g else your dog enjoys doing for fun let me know. I want you to feel comfortable that your dog will be treated with care and kindness, in a comfortable, fun, and safe environment with time for exercise and fresh air.
