I've been around dogs my entire life but I've been working professionally with them for the past three years, first as a service dog puppy raiser/trainer, then as a training specialist at a doggy daycare. I've raised three Labrador Retrievers - Foster, Keessee, and Lavender - the first two were training to become diabetic alert dogs and the last one was training to become a seeing-eye guide dog. I began raising each of them when they were still young puppies, providing socialization, obedience, public access, and special skills training over the course of 5-6 months, so I became very accustomed to having a dog by my side at all times. I've also learned to work with many different breeds, ages, and sizes while working as a dog daycare training specialist, so I'm familiar with most major breeds and comfortable working with pups of all sizes! In addition to house-sitting, drop-ins, and walks I can provide your pup with basic obedience training or more specialized skills and tricks training! I would also be happy to work alongside you and your pup on any behavioral issues they may have, or on any training skills you would like to develop for yourself. My current dog, Archer, is a Flat-Coated Retriever/Border Collie mix who loves meeting new friends and is great at helping more shy, less socialized dogs really come out of their shells and learn to play well with others. If socialization is something you would like your dog to work on, or if you'd just like for them to occasionally have another pup to play with then I would be happy to bring Archer with me and allow them to meet/play.
