Low key, attentive, & friendly home

Pet care experience

*I am currently pregnant and due July 31st. We would still like to offer our services to older, low key, couch potato types of dogs. I have a harder time taking walks and handling super energetic puppies and young dogs on the leash. Please don't hesitate to contact us if we are available for the time you need or if we have watched your dog before. Our 8 year old lab/grey hound mix has Addison's disease, a rare adrenal gland deficiency. She developed it around 2 years old and ever since, I have given her oral pills daily and an intramuscular shot every 30 to 45 days. Because she cannot produce adrenaline correctly, we have had to modify our own behavior to make sure she is comfortable and confident in her surroundings. We have a very calm and positive home life. I feel leaving your pet anywhere is more stressful for the owner. Knowing that we have extensive expertise in maintaining a low stress environment will help assure that your pet will be at ease. I have experience in giving ear and eye drops, shots, and IV's. I'm also great at giving baths. Especially to those that are a bit of a challenge for most. We rarely leave our dogs alone for more than an hour or 2 but your pet will not be left unattended for ANY period of time while in our care, especially if they are under a year old. Your dog will always have one on one attention from me or my husband 24/7. We do not feed any table scraps or human food to dogs. Any food/treat given during reward times will be raw veggies or ice cubes.

Raina and her husband were amazing with my one year old golden retreiver, Lola. Lola can truly be a handful but they were great with her. Raina has experience with training dogs, currently having two of her own, which was extremely beneficial, and reassuring, while I was away for 6 days. Lola has separation anxiety, so it was nice knowing Raina and her husband never left her alone. They brought her to the shop and even slept next to her at night. I was constantly updated with long messages and pictures. I had no worries while I was away, and came home to a happy pup!

Raina and Peter were absolutely the best. They went above and beyond for our 9 month old pup. Aside from being able to be with her literally 24/7 and sending us picture/video updates, they listened to what our concerns were about Maggie's development and behavior and helped trained her while we were away. She also learned some new tricks and games that we've since incorporated into our routine at home. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Raina was great with our dog. She gave him plenty of attention and he came home a happy dog. I look forward to using Raina again soon.

Information Raina R. would like to know about your pet

We want to meet you and your dog before a booking is confirmed. We DO NOT watch ANY dogs without an extensive meet and greet first. We would like to meet you and your dog at least 1 to 2 days BEFORE your planned trip just in case things don't go smoothly, you still have time to find another sitter or to make other arrangements. We have a dog friendly cat that loves our smaller dog, Piper (40 lbs). We don't mind if your dog hasn't been around a cat much but if you know your dog hates cats, let us know. We can make arrangements for her to stay upstairs where the dogs are off limits. We have no breed preference. We love all shapes, sizes, and ages but bigger dogs are what we are most used to. We have a "big dog" proofed house already (no coffee table or tail height objects to get launched across the room). We have a huge, custom made, comfy dog bed that they will share in the living room as well as multiple other beds near the couch. We can crate if necessary or if preferred by you or your pet.

A typical day

I am currently pregnant and due July 31st. Because of this we have had to decline to watch some of the more energetic and younger pups that we would normally love to have. However, if you have a mellow or older dog that would enjoy being a couch potato with me, don't hesitate to contact us. We will be taking some time off when the baby is born (August- Sept). But we will be looking forward to getting back to caring for Rover dogs asap! My husband and I live less than half a mile from Alfred A. Ring Park. We take our 2 dogs there almost weekly. We can take them through the park just for a walk or if they like to play, they can enjoy the creek too. We also have a dog park provided by our apartment complex. It is a pretty large, fenced in area with some toys and obstacles provided by Cobble Stone Apartments. For dogs that need a little more exercise, we can take them to the Gainesville-Hawthorne trail where they can run along side us as we bike or skate the trail. We love, and visit the Payne's Prairie Park trails as well. We are nature lovers and enjoy being outside with a pack of dogs. We love to challenge our dogs with obedience activities. We can teach your dog simple commands and impulse control. Let us know if there is anything we can help you with in particular.
