I grew up in a family with big, active dogs (two Golden Retrievers and one Australian Shepherd) from ages 6 to 20 and have enjoyed dog-sitting for friends and acquaintances for dogs of all sizes ever since! I currently have two dog nephews who I regularly spend time with, as well. I love dogs and will happily take every opportunity I can to spend time with them. As I am not currently a dog owner, I'm looking to get my dog fix by dog sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walking through Rover and making connections with dogs and their owners I would not have otherwise known. I enjoy being active and spending time outside (even on cold winter days) and am a runner and would happily take a companion along on my walks or runs, depending on your dog's needs. I'm also an experienced dog sitter and love learning what each particular dog needs to feel happy and content in their owner's absences.

Raela was very personable, and both my dog, Mittie, and I liked her a lot. She was quick to come for a Meet and Greet, meet Mittie, and learn the things necessary to make her walk with Mittie go smoothly. I definitely would recommend Raela and will ask for her next time.
Raela did such a great job! The daily check-ins and pictures put my mind at ease so I could enjoy my son's wedding knowing that Mazie is being well cared for and exercised! I really appreciated the time Raela spent at the house with Mazie. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her and will definately ask her to housesit next time we travel. Thank you Raela!
I am so happy to have found Raela to watch my pup when I travel! She has stayed in my home on two separate occasions with my English bulldog Remy and I have been able to enjoy my vacations without worry. Remy requires a medication every other day and doesn't like other dogs, something Raela has managed very well! Raela has great communication, sends photo updates throughout my time away, and keeps the house tidy! She has even helped with a few housekeeping chores like taking the trash bins out on trash collection day and watering my gardens during the extreme heat. I couldn't recommend Raela enough and Remy looks forward to future stays :)

Information Raela S. would like to know about your pet
I want to know the dog's daily routine, when he or she is used to eating and going to the bathroom, what amount/level of exercise is safe for him or her, and any special health concerns. I like to know how a dog reacts to other dogs (as well as people in general and kids in particular) in different situations and settings (ex. does the dog react differently on their own turf vs. neutral territory?). Any and all special tips are accepted! Things like favorite toys, favorite places to sit, where the dog likes to sleep, favorite treats, and more are alway helpful!
A typical day
I love exploring local areas and am happy to search out the closest parks and trails that are dog-friendly. I especially enjoy running around the chain of lakes in Minneapolis in my personal time but have also thoroughly enjoyed getting to know a dog's neighborhood walking options. If your pup is comfortable at dog parks, I'd be happy to take him or her there too!

Availability
I’m currently working from home 3 days/week and at my office 2 days/week. On my office days, I’m usually able to stop back to the pet’s home mid-day if they aren’t able to go without a potty break the full workday. If I have something on the calendar during the requested dates, I will make sure it fits with the pet’s schedule before committing.
