Having a dog as a kid was my favorite memory of my childhood. I understand that they are family and should be given just as much care and love. In addition to having my own dog at home I also have volunteered for several years at the Baltimore Humane Society, a non profit shelter and refuge home for animals. There I planned and organized the Dog festival. Think of it as a carnival for dogs; it included a pool, a gigantic play house, sand box, games and prizes for their owners and much more. Not only did I love helping animals find a home at this event but I also loved seeing their pure happiness from having fun. Because of this I want to continue to help dogs feel wanted,loved and happy, especially when their owners are away.
