Loving mom of Beau (5ish-year-old energetic handsome black lab mix - foster "fail"). Previously mom to Bean (Pom) for 13 years and part-time mom/auntie to Eddie (they have both passed). Experienced foster mama for Safe Hands Rescue. I own a dog-sitting business: Heart & Hearth (has a site), where I stay in your home with your pets and Beau! Besides other dog jobs, I'm home full-time and can offer an abundance of cuddles, walks, attention, and playtime! I grew up always having a dog or two, both big and small. I have dealt with dog anxiety, seizures, potty training, runaways, vomiting, fights, training exercises, grooming, and pretty much everything else! I welcome dogs on my furniture but I am happy to follow your rules if they are different. My dog gets along with everyone and loves to play. He doesn't always realize he's a big guy so he can look/sound scary but he's all love. Heartandhearthcare has more info!

Rachel took great care of Trigger. She was a great communicator and was super flexible with pick up and drop off. Trigger came home happy, healthy, well loved, and worn out. I would highly recommend Rachel!
Big dogs, little dogs, and everything in between, Rachel is great with them- and they love her back! She has been my neighbor for over a year and I can personally attest to the care and attention she's given to the multiple dogs (including mine) she has taken care of since I met her. Sweet and responsible, you'll feel comfortable having Rachel take care of your dog too!

I have a partially fenced yard I use with my dog, but I don't let other dogs off-leash in an unfenced area unless I'm told that's okay. My dog takes up half of my bed and it's fairly normal to have another up there also. (I don't get much room!) We follow the rules of whoever's house we are in.

MEET & GREET REQUIRED! Does your dog get along with other dogs? Is your dog aggressive ever (tell me the triggers)? Does your dog have any anxieties or quirks? Is your dog an escape artist? Is your dog house-trained? Is your dog leash trained and okay to walk with another dog? Is your dog up to date on all vaccinations, vet checkups, etc? No breed or size restrictions as long as they are friendly with both humans and other dogs.
A typical day
We spend lots of time outside in the backyard playing fetch, chase, or tug of war. My yard is mostly fenced, with a gap to the back alley. We walk on the beautiful side streets around my neighborhood, often around Sibley Park, Lake Hiawatha/Nokomis, and Minnehaha Creek. We visit dog parks sometimes (not with the dog flu!). I love to play with dogs and have cuddle time. I don't shut out dogs - where I go they go. Want to go on a hike, we can do that too! I'm home full-time so your dog will have lots of attention, cuddles, playtime, and walks.

Availability
I am either living at a client's home taking care of their dog(s) or at my own home full time. I take one client at a time. We go for at least one long walk and several shorter walks a day. We go outside for a potty break first thing in the morning and last thing before bed. My dog does everything with me so he's very used to living with other dogs. We do mealtime twice a day but are flexible to your routine. I regularly check and refill the water bowl. Pet care is my job! heartandhearthcare MEET & GREET REQUIRED
