Pet care experience
I’ve always had a special place in my heart for animals, and I’ve taken care of cats and dogs ever since I can remember! While growing up I cared for dogs and cats of friends, families, and others who were referred to me by word of mouth. Now I use Rover to connect with other pet owners and my services include dog walking, check ins for potty breaks, medicine administration, pet sitting… and I will go above and beyond to give your furry friend lots of love and attention! I live in a house with a Saint Bernard mix, a German shepherd, a golden retriever, and a cat so I am no stranger to fur and slobber!! I’ve even been able to gain the trust of a runaway German shepherd and I returned him home safely!

Rachel did a great job watching our two dogs in our home. We were able to go on a two week family vacation which we had never done before. The house was spotless upon our return. She washed her bed linens. We didn’t ask, nor expect her to clean. She sent many updates and pictures of the dogs. Rachel provided a perfect solution to our wanting to keep our older dog at home with our younger dog. So much less stress on them. And us. Knowing we can book Rachel again opens up so many possibilities for us to travel to see grandchildren as well as just travel on our own.

Rachel took great care of our big boys. Also took good care of the house and the flowers outdoors!! Sent great pics and the dogs were relaxed and happy when we returned! Would rebook for sure!

My experience with almost all dogs and cats is safety follows trust and you can’t have trust without a positive environment. Which is why I find the meet and greet not just for the owner’s sake but for the welfare of who I’m caring for. I have never broken trust with any of my clients. I always send a follow up message letting them know how the time went.

I want to know everything about your dog(s) or cat(s)! Allergies. I want to know about their allergies whether it be slight or serious! What do I need to know to keep them safe? What makes your dog excited to play? What intimidates or trigger them on a walk? What can I do to calm them?
A typical day
Daily dog walking, brain games, and regular potty breaks. I am a big supporter of positive reinforcement, not negative. LOTS OF LOVE!! My favorite game for dogs are the classic kong or tug-o-war rope! I’ll play the ‘tap, tap’ or ‘hide under the blanket’ with my cat (I always end up losing!) I take my own dog to a quiet park as she likes her privacy to sniff things and carry on peacefully. But hopefully while communicating with you and having the trust of your dog we can go on more adventurous walks for their nose and pleasure. :)

Availability
Pet care can fit into any time of my schedule! The times I prefer are in the morning and afternoon but I am open to evenings. With summer coming in I’m more comfortable walking in the mornings or evenings for the sake of your dog’s comfort and paws! :)
