Pet care experience
I've had pets my whole life and can't imagine living without them! I've taken care of aging and ill dogs and cats as well as managing their pre- and post-surgery needs. I live with an incredibly friendly, large Labrador who has trained me well; I've also taken classes with him as well as on using dogs in therapy.

Bailey had a great time meeting her new friend "Lynus". We are looking forward to her next visit for a week in Dec. Rachel has a great yard for the dogs to play and she is close enough to the ocean for a great walk.
Rachel was great. She responded quickly when we made arrangements and was pleasant to visit with. I felt good leaving my dog with her. Rachel’s dog is also nice. My dog had a great day playing with Linus

I live in a single level home with a few steps to the front porch and down to the back yard. My neighborhood is quiet with minimal traffic and perfect for dog walks; 'm also happy to take your dog on a trail or the beach, just let me know. My back yard is large and securely fenced. My dog Linus is gentle with smaller dogs and is never aggressive, although a meet-and-greet is ideal before the first stay. I do have a large number of house plants, so if your pup tends to eat them this is likely not a good fit. My dog is no longer crated and just tends to either come with me (and wears his harness and seat belt) or naps while I'm gone. I'm happy to have your pup crated or not, depending on what makes them safest.

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs, medications, and/or preferences! A lot of dogs are anxious when their people are gone, so anything you can tell me to make them feel more at ease would be great. Any dogs I watch need to be reasonably friendly with my Labrador; I do not have the ability to separate dogs in my home for more than brief periods so they need to get along!
A typical day
I love having dogs be part of as much of my day as possible; depending on the weather and your pup’s preferences, we might go on a walk in my neighborhood or into Depoe Bay, hit the beach or a trail in the woods, or just play in the backyard. Pups love sniffing and exploring while I work in the yard, which gives us both a reason to chill and cuddle on the couch when we’re finished.

I have a somewhat flexible work schedule and will only accept a daycare reservation if I am not working; I will take boarders on days I have some work from home, so I'll have lots of time to take your dog out for a walk or hike, or just chill with them at my place.
