Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Rachel, and I moved to New York from the south in 2013. I've had labs and cats as family pets for about 20 years, and I have experience sitting for large & small dogs (and cats!) I have two Labradors & two cats back at home, and I miss them! Due to the pandemic, I am not going into the office regularly anymore, and am excited to devote that time to your pet. I live in Greenpoint, near several parks to go on walks and play! I have experience training puppies in basic commands, as well as having worked with hunting dogs. I am confident managing any and all pet needs. I would love to help you put your mind at ease knowing your home &/or pet is in good hands while you are away! I also love documenting my stays, so I can keep you informed with regular updates & photos. I am excited to meet you and make a new furry friend!
Reviews
Rachel watched our pitbull-pointer mix, Pete, for eight days while we were on vacation overseas. Pete is pretty attached to us and can be a bit of a handful sometimes, so we were a little apprehensive about a new sitter. Rachel assuaged our apprehension with a pre-sitting visit to meet Pete -- we could tell right away they'd be comfortable with each other. Her flexibility regarding her availability was greatly appreciated. During our trip she sent us pictures and kept us updated on Pete, which was really nice. As I type this the morning after our return our pup is sleeping soundly, so clearly he got enough exercise while we were gone. I highly recommend Rachel's services and hope that we can hire her again to watch Pete in the near future.
Rachel did a wonderful job taking care of my dog! She sent pics and gave updates, and my dog Frankie truly enjoyed her stay. I wouldn't hesitate to book her again.
Rachel is AMAZING! My boyfriend and I had never left our eight month old puppy for more than a day or two and were very nervous about leaving her for a week to go on vacation. Not only did Rachel take the time to get to know our dog Ivy before we left, but she also gave us regular updates while we were traveling to put us at ease. Rachel clearly loves dogs and Ivy had a blast spending the week with her. I would highly recommend Rachel to anyone and as the anxious owner of a young dog it was so wonderful to be able to relax and enjoy vacation knowing that Ivy was well taken care of by a loving and responsible sitter. She is very professional, extremely responsive, and I would book with Rachel again in a heartbeat. There is not enough space in this review box for the amount of good things I have to say about our experience. Thank you Rachel! You're the best!
Rachel is truly a treasure. She is kind, loving and genuinely caring which is so hard to come by these days. She loves my pit/husky mix and he loves her back. "Aunt Rachel" is what we call her. She's also patient, he's a jumper! I would trust her to take care of him and actually, I would trust her to take care of me. Bonus: She had a flexible work schedule and is very accommodating. Southern (pet) hospitality at its finest!

Information Rachel S. would like to know about your pet
I have a soft spot for senior and special needs dogs. I like to set up a meet and greet prior to all stays to meet your pup, review their routine, and any additional care they may need: training, medication, special needs, etc. I am confident in my experience and ability to give your dog the care they require, and love they deserve:)
A typical day
I am a runner, so if your dog needs a good work out, I'm your girl! Or, I'm happy to just sit at home and cuddle:)
