A Tail-Wagging Good Time for Pups!
Pet care experience
Growing up with dogs has been an integral part of my life since I was 11 years old when my family welcomed our first puppy. Over time, our family expanded to include more furry companions, turning our household into a bustling pack filled with fur and joy. From puppyhood to the golden years, I’ve become well-versed in meeting the diverse needs of our canine friends. In our family, dogs aren’t just pets; they’re cherished members who deserve the same love and respect as any other family member. This philosophy guides my approach to pet care—I believe in allowing dogs the freedom to express their needs, whether it’s playtime, nap time, or simply a stroll in the yard. However, I also understand the importance of structure and discipline, akin to the dynamics of parenting children. My experiences have taught me the delicate balance between being a firm leader and a compassionate friend to our furry companions. Having experienced the entire lifecycle of dogs, from the playful antics of puppies to the gentle care required by seniors, I’ve developed a deep understanding and appreciation for their unique needs at every stage. One particular bond that touched my heart deeply was with my beloved Australian Shepherd, my “heart dog,” who accompanied me through my teen years until his passing in 2022 at the age of 15. As he aged and his health declined, I became attuned to his changing needs, especially as his hips began to trouble him. I carried him when necessary, ensuring he could still enjoy the outdoors and providing comfort whenever he needed it. Our walks together evolved into quiet moments in the front yard, where he could bask in the sunshine while I tended to the other dogs nearby. His contented barks served as gentle reminders of our unbreakable bond. It’s this level of love and devotion that I bring to every dog in my care. With a deep-seated passion for animals and a lifetime of experience caring for them, I am dedicated to extending love, companionship, and exceptional care to your beloved pup while you’re away. Your dog will not only be in good hands but will also receive the same level of affection and attention they would at home.
Reviews
Rachel is great with my anxious, timid girl. She warmed up to Rachel very quickly. Rachel is very detailed with reports and put up with my friendly reminders at first. I am lucky to have found her.
Rachel is intelligent, thoughtful, and caring. She is everything I would want for my pup while I can’t be at home and a pleasure to work with!
Rachel has walked her family's dogs for many years, and still does today. She grew up in a house which had two or more dogs at all times and is very familiar with dogs having different personalities, as well as walking needs. She'll take her time with the older or lower energy dogs, and will run right alongside the younger or higher energy dogs. In addition to being a great dog walker, she has also helped out with many dog care duties - including things like brushing teeth, giving medications, vet visits, grooming, and spoiling them. Rachel loves all dogs and will take great care with your furry family member(s) to keep them safe, healthy, and help them get a little - or a lot - more exercise in!
Rachel did an amazing job staying in my home and caring for my pets (1 large dog & 2 cats) while I was on vacation for a week. She gave updates throughout the week and made sure to communicate any concerns or issues that came up. I have one pet that requires daily medication and special food, which she made sure they received. She clearly loves animals and I would hire her again in a heartbeat!

I’m currently working remotely, so I can happily adjust my schedule and working arrangements to meet the needs of your pets. I’m happy to take breaks when they need attention and to keep both of our schedules “productive.”
