Gray Hounds: Senior Pup Specialists
Pet care experience
Sara and Rachel have been caring for pets for more than twenty years. As former owners of a sweet doberman we loved to 13, we understand the special needs of elderly dogs. We have experience in giving dogs medicine. We are happy to watch dogs of all ages, cats, and other animal friends, but feel uniquely suited to help care for your gray hound while you are away. All vacations require a meet and greet before we accept a reservation. We only accept one reservation at a time in order to give your pet our best attention. Due to a fostering fail 😂 that resulted in a recent cat adoption, we no longer board dogs in our home. Please reach out to us with any questions or special requests.
Reviews
Rachel and Sara are wonderful dog-sitters. They are extremely responsible about giving our dog her medications and the extra care she needs due to her age & medical condition. Bella also clearly got lots of love and affection in their care! We felt complete peace of mind leaving her with them while we were gone.
Very responsive, helpful, and accommodating when we scheduled, and even more so during our dog/house sitting. Came back to a Happy and healthy dog and a well-cared-for home. Highly recommend.
Rachel and Sarah were wonderful dog sitters! They were so caring and attentive to our little dog. Their communication was excellent - we received frequent pictures and text updates while we were gone. We would definitely ask them to watch Bella again when we need a dog sitter.
Rachel did a phenomenal job house sitting with our three Standard Poodles, Maine Coon and goldfish. The dogs had their regular walks. Since they are seniors, we value being able to have them stay at home rather than be boarded.

Two leashes please! Safety is our highest priority! We live on a busy road with a cat who loves to take walks so we have developed really careful habits surrounding opening and closing doors to prevent escapes.
Information Rachel P. would like to know about your pet
How can I make your pet most comfortable? Does your pet have anything that alarms or frightens them? What makes them happiest? What words do they know? We once learned Spanish commands for a rescue pup from Mexico.
A typical day
I have a great arm for fetch! Walks never stop being fun. We even taught our new cat how to wear a harness and take leashed walks- guess we miss having a dog!

Availability
Sara and Rachel love to spend time outdoors so we are delighted to take active paws out for a long play session. As a couple we are able to tag team to provide better coverage, more breaks, and more cuddle time with your pet while you are away. This also provides greater safety at no extra charge to you when there are multiple dogs in the home that will require walks.
