Pet care experience
Hi, I’m Rachel! My husband Ola and I would be thrilled to host and care for your pet(s) and shower them with all the love, care and attention they deserve! I (Rachel) have been taking care of different animals for as long as I can remember, including cats (my longtime childhood cat Lola also had kittens many times and I helped raise & care for each litter) and I have dog-sat & helped care for family members’ and friends’ dogs for many years as a teenager and beyond. My husband Ola has been a lover of dogs since he was little and has been an incredibly thoughtful and loving dog parent to our pup Astro. We got Astro, a mini goldendoodle, as a puppy 4 years ago and trained her extensively ourselves. We also took her to intensive obedience classes so we could learn some more of the best training techniques and more about dog behavior. This past year, we received great praise from friends and folks in our community for being able to effectively help other friends with their dog training issues and needs! We’d be honored to be your dog’s caretaker and, we can promise you, we treat all of our doggy guests like they’re our own fur babies ❤️

Rachel is amazing. She was so communicative and full of so much love. We never had to wonder about what our kitten and older dog were getting into: we received regular updates and adorable pictures throughout. I’d book Rachel again in a heartbeat — she’s kind, caring, and so good with pets! ❤️ She also kept the house flawless and cleaned up accidents as they arose. Couldn’t have asked for better, honestly. She’s just great. :)

We live in an incredibly dog-friendly apartment building. There are plenty of spots for them to potty right outside (patches of grass and trees) the apartment building, AND we are literally 1 block away from the amazing dog park at Revolution Hall (2 minute walk) which we take our dog Astro to almost daily (and we can bring your dog to the park in addition to normal walks, if you’d like!).

A typical day
We love to keep dogs stimulated-mentally and physically-and smiling! We’ll take your dog on walks around to get all the good smells of the neighborhood, and go to the beautiful, spacious Revolution Hall dog park 1 block away from our place (if that would benefit your pup)! We’ll also play games (like tug of war or light fetch if they’re into that), play with toys, and provide plenty of pets and cuddles when at home.

Availability
We’re both currently working part-time from home (with flexible hours), so we’ll have plenty of time to spend with your dog! We also take our four-year-old mini goldendoodle Astro (who is incredibly calm and well-behaved) outside at least every few hours for potty breaks and walks — so taking your dog out and pampering them like we do with our sweet Astro won’t be an issue for us!
