Safe with big/reactive dogs!

Pet care experience

I've owned 3 working-line dogs since they were puppies, and they've all been a little spicy, so reactivity/aggression doesn't scare me! I currently own a cat and a German Shepherd. I've had experience in several group training classes working with different dog temperaments, and I'm good at identifying dog behaviors and working through it in a positive way.

My dog loves Rachel, she always gets so excited when she comes over for a walk. My dog can be a lot on leash and Rachel always handles her so well.

Rachel was awesome! She accepted a last minute request, had great communication, and made sure my dog was comfortable while in her care (even dried her off and filled up her water bowl before leaving). Would definitely recommend to a friend and book again:)

Rachel is highly equipped to handle any kind of dog or cat. She has been caring for and training high energy, intelligent dogs for years. She is a fantastic dog trainer who is cool-headed and kind. She’s also comfortable handling dogs that have behavioral issues like reactivity, fear, and aggression. She also loves cats and has one of her own, that she loves to cuddle and play with. Rachel is one of the most responsible, intelligent, down-to-earth people I have ever met. She is as reliable as it gets and can handle just about any situation that is thrown her way. She has excelled in her career as an ICU nurse, and recently earned her doctoral degree in nurse anesthesia. She is not only a fantastic caregiver and animal handler, but just an all around amazing person. Anyone entrusting Rachel with their pet care can be guaranteed excellent service and happy, healthy pets!

I have to be very careful with my reactive dog, so I'm used to considering everything that can go wrong in a situation and preparing for it. My cat and dog don't get along super well, so I can referree at your house too if needed!

Information Rachel N. would like to know about your pet

It's important for me to know any triggers or specific behaviors your dog has to watch out for, as well as any current obedience tasks and commands they know.

A typical day

Walks are great for all the mental stimulation of sniffing. We can play fetch and tug too! For lower physical intensity, we can play scent games like find the toy/treat. Or we could brush up on some obedience/learn something new! Using his brain always tires my dog out, and he loves the treats.
