Pet care experience
I'm a college professor and writer, who works mainly from home. I love all dogs and have had a Border Collie and Great Prye, so I know what fun a high energy dog can be. I do have a lab/terrier mix, who is socialized to other dogs and loves dog company. Your dog will have plenty of love and attention when they join our pack.

I have a fenced in yard on a lot and a half, located close to downtown. The space between the pickets in the fence is 3.5 inches, but the first 2 feet from the ground up have chicken wire secured around the perimeter. I currently have a dog, so the home is safe for dogs.

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or attention. I'd like to know how socialized your dog is--how they do with other dogs and kids. If your dog is anxious, what works best to calm them. Also, knowing their schedule is a plus.
A typical day
Dolly loves to play soccer in our fenced-back yard. I live close to down town, so it's a quick 1.5 mile walk that is easy for us. We are also close to the trail system and take longer 3-4 miles in good weather. In warmer weather, we hang out on the porch, which is dog proofed and gated.

During the semesters my schedule is flexible, so I'm home on Tuesdays & Thursdays and all afternoons and evenings. I work from home in the summer.
