Animal Enthusiast at the ready!
Pet care experience
I love animals and have kept happy, adoring pets for almost my entire life. My friends call me first when they need a drop-in or overnight petsitter because of my enthusiasm and trust with their furry pals. I especially have a soft spot and skill with the "older crowd," having cared for many senior dogs and cats in their sunset years. I practice positive reinforcement and can patiently wait out the pickiest pooper on walks. Need someone to tire your pup out? Great! I need the exercise. Have a shy little dude who just wants to know someone is there? I have a book and a willing lap. Does your elderly pup need help up and down the stairs and a little extra time outside to get business done? I'm strong, gentle, and patient. We'll take all the time we need. I now live in an apartment that prohibits dogs, and the time I spend with animals outside of my home is just as much of a joy for me as it is for them! I also pride myself on being a stellar houseguest, keeping your home and your pup safe and secure while providing the very best care. I've done sitting gigs for as long as two weeks or as short as an overnight emergency stay. I vow to keep everything in tip-top shape and can be trusted to treat your pets—and home— with the utmost respect.

Rachel took great care of our dog Ripley. We had a great meet and greet to go over Ripley's care and any weird things with our house. She asked good questions about Ripley's habits and preferences. While we were away she gave great updates throughout the weekend on when they would play and walk. We appreciated the regular photos and videos without even asking. Ripley seemed to enjoy her time with Rachel. They seemed to play a lot because she was tired when we got home. I would totally use Rachel again to watch Ripley!
Rachel is the only person I trust to watch my dogs! Her love for animals is so sincere that it never feels like a job, but rather a reward to take care of them for a short time. Rachel has dog-sat our two Brittany spaniels (high energy) several times, but one time stands out above the rest. My husband and I needed to travel out of town for a weekend, and I was about 8.5 months pregnant (very stressed). The thought of leaving our dogs, who were rescued from shelters, locked up separately at a kennel all weekend broke my heart. Rachel didn’t even hesitate to come stay at our house for the weekend to watch them, and probably loved up on them more than we usually do! My worries were completely at ease ... and I think they all had a fun weekend!
Rachel has always shown the greatest love and care for our dog Porter. The love she has for all animals is very apparent and quite adorable. With Porter she’s always put the utmost care into walking him, feeding him, and giving him a warm and loving home away from home. He cries with joy every time he sees her, which is like a dog’s version of a 5 star Yelp review. I could not recommend her more!
Rachel is the best dog sitter! It’s clear dogs are her passion. She’s always so sweet and kind to our dog, he loves her so much! She’s reliable and overall just a pleasure to work with. There’s are few people I trust my pet with and she is on that short list!

Any triggers to avoid or behavioral tendencies should be stated upfront, for my safety and for your animal. Dietary restrictions or medications are no problem, and please make sure to let me know if your dog is unable to do certain activities (climb stairs, jump up into a car/on a couch, trouble getting up off of slick flooring) so I can better assist them!
A typical day
We can stick to a favorite path of yours, or I can take them for a little tour of your neighborhood. I welcome suggestions on what your animal likes best so they can feel safe and secure in their home with me. I'm also a big fan of tug-of-war ;)
