Hello! My name is Rachel and I am life-long Vermonter, currently living in South Burlington. I have lived my entire life having dogs, as well as many other creatures, as pets, and consider myself an avid animal lover! I have had many different breeds of dogs as pets, and am currently the mother to Winnie, my 13yo Chihuahua whom I’ve had since she was a puppy, 3 turtles, 2 fish, a lop-eared bunny (that I liter boxed trained!), and a hamster. I am a UVM graduate with a degree in Psychology and have held different positions in that field. I also have served as the manager for a local dog rescue, taking care of 25+ surrendered/ rescued dogs of all backgrounds, breeds, ages, medical needs, and social preferences as well as helping them find optimal homes. The majority of my experience caring for dogs has come through personal ownership. As previously mentioned, I’ve had everythung from my Chihuahua to a Pitbull I rescued, a lab, dachshund, and completely handicapped/ lame West Highland Terrier whom required extensive care. I am a quick learner and very intuitive to the needs of animals, and it is my priority to insure the happiness and highest care possible for all animals.
