Hello! We are Nick and Rachel; a reliable, friendly and absolutely animal-loving couple based in Milton, Cambridge. We enjoy nature and like to go out for walks regularly, whether that is with a furry friend or just the two of us. We live a fairly active lifestyle going to the gym, walking, playing football and netball, so we can certainly keep up with your high energy pets! We love having animals around for company and lots of cuddles, they bring us true joy and our pets have always been part of our family. First and foremost, we are animal-lovers, and will give your beloved pets all the care, attention and fuss that you would wish for. We have looked after many types/personalities of animals, including all kinds of rescued cats and kittens, dogs ranging from Dachshunds and Labradoodles to Weimaraners and Golden Retrievers, as well as mice, rats, hamsters, hedgehogs, ferrets and the odd chicken! If there are any special requirements such as medication or visits to the vet, we can take care of that. We are happy to look after young and old pets and will take careful note of everything you tell us about your pets. For the last couple of years we have been doing pet and house sitting for various different families across Cambridge and sometimes further away, while they are on holiday which can be from 3 nights to 3 weeks. More recently, we have started looking after dogs in our home too.

Rachel and Nick are a lovely couple and took the best care of Truffle! They sent lots of photos and videos while we were gone and made sure that Truffle had the best (and safest!) time. Highly recommend them!
A lovely couple who clearly love animals. My whippet was very happy staying with them. They were flexible and understanding with drop off and collection times and made sure our dog was happy and entertained. We received lovely photos and a video of her happily playing in the park. We will definitely use them again.
Lily seemed very happy. We got lots of pupdates during her stay. Rachel and Nick were lovely. They have a lovely manner with lily who is very relaxed in their company. Highly recommend.
Rachel was really lovely. Remy came home very tired out after his long walks ☺️ Rachel was great at sending lots of updates and pictures which made us a lot happier knowing he was having a great time. I’m sure Remy would love to go back!

We live down the end of a cul-de-sac, in a quiet and secure area of our village and we have a fenced garden that your dog can go in as much as they like. We will always defer to the owner's preferences when it comes to making your dog comfortable. Dogs are very welcome on the sofa and they have free range of the whole house and garden. We usually take them on one big walk each day - this can be a couple of shorter walks instead for young or senior dogs who can't walk as much. We tend to walk a dog on lead the first few times, as we like to make sure we have established trust and practised recall before walking a new dog off-lead. We will always speak to you about your preferences on this and will never take them off the lead if this is a requirement for you.

A typical day
We both work from home with flexible work schedules, so we will always be around to care for your beloved pets and of course play and practise any training or commands if wanted. We are very lucky to have a large country park near our house, which is great for walking short to medium distances during the week, as well as the river Cam down the road for longer walks to Waterbeach or Cambridge which we would venture down during weekends. Then in the evening we love to relax on the sofa and watch TV and your dog is welcome to snuggle up on the sofa with us, in fact we encourage it!

Availability
We both work from home during the week and have a flexible schedule. We typically go on a daily walk at lunchtime, but are also available to walk dogs in the morning, afternoon and most evenings. We are happy to take dogs overnight on some weekdays and on weekends. Please get in touch if you'd like your dog to stay with us for a week or longer - even if the calendar doesn't show us as available, we are often able to accommodate you.
