Fur mom to many, Vet Tech by trade

Pet care experience

Being a momma to all sorts of animals over the years, I would have a hard time finding someone I could trust to watch them if I were traveling, working late shifts or otherwise. It's why a site like this is so cool in finding the right fit for you and your fur baby! A bit about me, I've been passionate about animals since childhood. As a kid I would find and nurse birds, squirrels, kittens and really anything I came across that needed help. As I became an adult, I took in a neglected, malnourished female Dogo Argentino who became my absolute best friend. As she aged, I knew I couldn't care for her the way I knew she deserved, which in turn inspired me go to school to become a Veterinary Technician! I loved everything about it and graduated in 2017! Since then, I've nursed and cared for pigeons, squirrels, dogs, cats, opossums and anything else that needed the love, attention and care they needed!

She was so great with our cats! And kept everything in order for us! We will definitely have her watch them again!

Rachel was amazing with my 2 dogs and 2 cats. This was my first time leaving them in the hands of someone I didn't know and after our initial meet and greet I knew they would be in good hands. After the first day of pictures I knew my babes wouldn't even want me to come back home! She gave them so much love and attention! I will definitely be asking Rachel to visit our house again!

Being a family that travels quite a lot it’s hard to leave your pets with just anyone. We are so impressed with Rachel and her attentiveness to our dog and cat! We definitely trust her and will always use her when we leave town! 10/10 we would recommend 😊

Rachel was fantastic. We went away for just a couple nights and she looked after our 3 cats. She went above and beyond, bringing toys for them to play with and coaxing our shyest cat out to play as well. She was extremely communicative every step of the way and sent a ton of pictures and videos at every visit so we could relax and not worry. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone and we will definitely be booking her again the next time we go away!

Drop-Ins: Totally your call on what you'd like for me to do while checking in with your friend (and home) while you're away. Some regulars have me come out twice a day for feeding and potty breaks, others four visits or more. I don't mind bringing in mail, putting out trash cans, or watering the plants. Everyone's needs may look a little different, so just let me know what you need. I'm pretty flexible for time, just let me know when you're ready for a meet and greet! Boarding: I have over a half an acre fenced in yard, plenty of sun and shade for play 😎 I accompany guests at every outing (every 2 hours), from the strictly business guys and gals who do their thing and run back in, the sunbathers who like to soak up the rays, and the wild ones who can't say no to play. The summers can get pretty hot, so I do have a splash pad I like to keep out for visitors to cool off if they like. When we are inside, I like to give as much space to explore and get comfy. I keep a Serta pet bed just for them that is washed and put away after each stay. I make fresh organic peanut butter sweet potato cookies, and pumpkin pops as a treat in the summer (Given your permission, I'd love to spoil them with a few goodies)😊.   I crate overnight fur guest to keep them safe and calm. It helps to have their blankets or favorite toys to keep them happy and relaxed at bedtime. Please feel free to bring as much from home as you'd like! I wake early around 6am and in bed late, so they won't be crated for long. I'll be sure to send you snaps of yours too while they are visiting 😊 If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out, nothing is as important as your friend's safety, health and well-being while they are with me! Some are a little hesitant to board with other pets in the house. It's why I only board one visitor at a time. I do have a dog and three cats. Mose is a 6 year old mixed pit, he loves to play with anything that moves. He does tucker out pretty easily due to his hip dysplasia these days, so as much as he likes a friend, I do keep him separate from guests. Check his bio for more on Mose, he's super cool, practically raised by cats, believes he is one himself. The three cats are easy going. Two of which primarily stay outside, the other thinks she runs the house... but really just naps all day.

Let me know if your friend has any special needs or behaviors I can account for. Such as medications I'd need to administer, special diet or food aggression. What to bring at drop off: Please bring your dog's food and leash with you at drop off. If you have bedding, favorite snacks, toys or blankets please bring those as well or anything that brings your buddy comfort. I do have crates in various sizes for bedtime but if you have one they prefer, you can bring that if you'd like.

A typical day

A typical day here for boarding is a lot of free reign on your buddy. I follow their comfort and needs, outside breaks for play and potty every 2 hours is a given. It's good for them to be able to explore the area, our neighborhood, and gets some energy out too. It makes for a calm, relaxed friend here during the day and for good rest at night! The more high energy visitors love play outside, whether it's fetch, tug of war, playing in the splash pad, chewing on their favorite treats or just relaxing on the back deck. Some are more low energy and that's totally cool with me too. I can most definitely chill indoors with your friend, watch their favorite shows, discuss who our celebrity crushes are and just be couch potatoes together.
