Pet care experience
For new Rover users use the code below to get $20 off your first booking! RACHEH43298 https://www.rover.com/sit/racheh43298 Hello! I grew up on a farm and have cared for animals of all kind of backgrounds - dogs, cats, horses, sheep, goats, deer, coyotes, small mammals, birds, reptiles, and other exotic / wild animals. I have experience with disabled and special needs pets, medication management, and post surgery care. Senior animals are my true passion though! Because I live in a dog friendly building that has small children, I would not be a good fit for animals with any history of aggression against them. I’m happy to recommend others who would be able to take care of them though!
Reviews
Rachel did great with our pup, was responsive and proactive with communication, and very flexible overall.
We felt so comfortable leaving our pup in Rachel’s care! She checked in with photos and updates on everything she and our dog were up to. We loved being able to enjoy some time away while trusting our pup was well taken care of.
Rachel did an amazing job watching my Marley! Always gave me updates and pictures and took great care of my baby boy! Would highly recommend!!
Rachel did an outstanding job taking care of my dog. She helped me feel at ease while on vacation. Sent me regular updates and plenty of photos. Definitely will use Rachel again

Some information about my place: I live in a very dog friendly building on the 7th floor. There’s an elevator, so it’s accessible to all animals with mobility limitations. While I don’t have a yard, I live very close to a number of parks and dog parks. I have a pet proof patio some animals like to sunbathe on and watch the neighbors below. I have hardwood floors and rugs, so I can lay those down or pick them up if your pet prefers. There are several dog beds around the apartment, but I always recommend bringing your own so they have a piece of home. We have food and water bowls, but please bring all food, medication, special toys, chew toys, treats, or blankets your baby uses for comfort!

Information Rachel H. would like to know about your pet
I’m happy to accommodate all the special needs and preferences your animal has, I just want to make sure I’m aware of them in advance to keep them safe and comfortable! Any special needs or behavior problems don’t disqualify your pet from my services, I just want to prepare to give them the best sitting experience. Safety is the first priority, but my goal is to give your pet their own mini vacation! If you express interest I’ll send you an extensive questionnaire to make sure we’re on the same page and I can make the best experience for your baby possible!
A typical day
I have a small 19 year old pup named Yammy. She’s the gentlest creature you’ll ever meet and has never met an animal she didn’t think was her baby. She has a pretty low energy level and might not be the most exciting playmate, but is a great companion if your pet gets lonely. That being said, we love to go on several long walks throughout the day, so your pet is welcome to join! I also have a stroller and backpack for smaller animals (less than 30 lbs) who can’t get around as easily but still love to go on walks.

Availability
I work from home, so will be with your baby the majority of the time and should be able to accommodate their bathroom schedule. I may have to briefly leave for the occasional errand / run to the office. These usually last 1-3 hours at the absolute most.
