Their home away from home

Pet care experience

I grew up with animals of all sorts, cats, dogs, turtles, Ralph the Gecko. I adopted my first puppy at the age of 21 & have never been without since. I have worked as a dog walker & dog sitter for Doggy Day Care facilities as well as independently. I am a lover of all breeds, although I will admit a soft spot for a pitty or a slobbery mastiff, what can I say. I have had the honor of having a couple of pitbulls, a Rott/Doberman mix & a Presa Canario, so I am very familiar with the size & characteristics of large breeds, as well as working/training them. While I am no trainer, I have worked & trained my own dogs with some excellent trainers over the years, so I can aid in any ongoing training you may be working on. As well as just not undoing all the hard work you've done. I recently lost my sweet little Honey Bun, the last of my pair, so our house is ever so quiet at the moment. I recently moved to the Phoenix area from Chicago & am getting to know my new home, so I am seeking a furry companion to join me for long walks in the neighborhood, at the community lake, or if possible (with your consent of course) a nice hike somewhere nearby! In addition to the fenced yard at our home, we are working on a house on a 2 acre fenced lot, so again, with your consent, he/she can run the property with us. My Honey Bun would jump out of the car & start making the rounds chasing rabbits, only coming back to get a sip of water & say hi before running off again. And if they happen to be more of a lounger, that’s fine too…very few places are off limits in our house, so the nap options are endless, both inside and out. Can’t wait to meet your furry companions & keep them happy & safe so you can enjoy your time away! Having been on that side needing to find someone to care for sometimes difficult dogs, I understand & would love to ease that anxiety.

Rachel was amazing with our Goldendoodle, Oakley! She is super professional and kind. Rachel took Oakley for daily walks and sent me pictures and kept me updated. I couldn't have been happier with her and how she cared for our boy. He got a ton of love! We hope to use Rachel again!!!

Great communication. Cider had a great time playing with the cats and could tell she really enjoyed her stay. So far this has been the best experience while using Rover.

Rachel has spent her entire life as a devoted caregiver. She gives all of herself to your pet. Her compassion and dedication are undeniable. From our special needs Cairn to our Pit/Terrier, Rachel always cared for our family as if they were her own. Highly recommend Rachel.

I have a fenced yard that is mostly gravel at the home your furry companion would be staying at. I do have a small doggy pool that can be set up as well as some outdoor lounge pads. We also have a 2 acre property that is fenced in & if it's okay, they can run the land which is a bit overgrown right now with grass, trees & dirt, so basically dog heaven. I am an animal lover, a silly fur baby mother, so my dogs have always been welcome on couches, beds & the chairs they manage to squeeze themselves onto. (Have you ever seen a 140lb Presa curl up on a small accent chair? It's priceless). However, I realize that not everyone makes those choices, so your house rules follow to my house...I wouldn't want to be the cause of any new bad habits. But know they are allowed & welcomed to snuggle on the couch or in bed. There's also have more than enough room to set up a crate if that's what your pal needs, you would just need to bring that along.

I am currently working mostly from home, so potty breaks in the yard or extra feedings are no problem at all. My work schedule is fairly flexible, so I can easily adapt to their feeding & walk/play time schedule. My routine was a daily 1-1.5 mile walk, usually in the morning, in addition to yard breaks. It's actually an odd feeling for me these days to not have a dog following me into the yard or join me on walks, so having yours visit would be great!!
