I grew up always having a dog or two to love and care for. In college and nursing school, when I couldn't have a dog of my own, I always found opportunities to care for friends and neighbors dogs because I missed my furry companions so much. As a newlywed, I even managed to talk my husband into a long term dog sitting stint. We watched our friends' 105 pound yellow lab for 4 months, which then turned into 9 months. Some of our best memories were spent walking and throwing the ball for our dog pal, Hunter! Since those newlyweds days we've been too busy with careers and then having 3 kiddos, to have a dog of our own, but still manage to dogsit my parents' miniature daushunds and our neighbors' Springer! My kids beg my husband and I for a dog constantly, so working for Rover has been great opportunity for them to further cultivate a love for dogss and see first hand, the responsibilities of caring for a furry family member. (If your dog is not kid friendly, I can arrange to come when my kids are in school or without my kids). Since starting with Rover, I've been able to care for so many various ages, stages and breeds of dogs. I've watched puppies, and "senior" dogs; I've dealt with over bearing and slow to warm up; I've worked with rescued dogs, and pound pups and no matter what, I try to provide personalized and excellent care just as you, the owner would. Pure bred, mutt or anything in between, I'll care for them as if they were mine.
