I’m Rachel and I love dogs! They are, in my opinion, among the purest creatures to have ever graced this earth! They’re honest, compassionate, loyal, and if you listen carefully, have so many important lessons to teach. Dogs can tell you how they feel with a twitch of their ears, a wag of their tail, or a curl of their lips. As someone that has worked with and rescued dogs for a whole lifetime, any opportunity to spend time with them whether it be for a walk, feeding, sensitive care, or companionship, is an opportunity I cannot refuse. My life and dreams revolve around continuing to work with animals, and this is a great start!

Before a stay, I’d be happy to set up a meet and greet so you can get to know me better. It’s important to me that dogs and human clients I meet will be able to trust me. Dogs will always be greeted with caution, but open arms. It is important to me that the dogs and human clients I meet will be able to trust me. During our meeting, I always make sure I have the owner let me know of any specific care the dog may require, as well as their personality traits so I can know what to expect. Food, medication, bathroom habits/training, and any routines that the dog strictly follows are amongst the things I'd want to be informed of from the start to make sure I am ready and capable to comply. I am willing to work with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages.
A typical day
Any dog that I care for is in for a treat. I always cater our time together specific to your pups wants, needs, and exercise level. I personally love to exercise, and any nudge of my hand or intent staring from the dog will be enough for me to get the hint they'd love to get outside and go on a walk! Speaking of nudging my hand, I know this sometimes is also just a request for even more ear scratches and belly rubs, so I will happily comply. Seeing dogs under my care happy truly makes me happy as well. Along with walks, playtime is a great way to not only bond, but also get energy out and be silly! Whether it be tug-o-war, fetch, or playing with your squeaky toys with you, I am up for it all. Of course, with all the fun and games, there are also some concrete things to be taken care of. Dogs under my care can expect to have their normal feeding and/or medication regiment under the same schedule as usual. Potty time will be provided at least three times a day or however much they need. This is especially the case for puppies, senior dogs, or any other dogs with specific needs. Bedtime will be under whichever circumstances my human clients specify. I’m even up for bedtime snuggles because I understand some dogs might be especially anxious while missing their parents. Any dog under my care will be safe, loved, and carefully tended to.

Availability
Growing up, there were always pups around. My first dog, a male traditional red Golden Retriever that I named Sugar sparked a lifelong passion for dogs and all animals. Since Sugar, I have owned, fostered, and rescued several dogs, while also having volunteered in multiple rescues and shelters. Several months ago, I adopted a mixed breed Hurricane Irma rescue named Bingo. He’s a seven year old German Shepherd and Lab mix who I absolutely adore.
