Pup, pup, hooray!
Pet care experience
I love all animals and have cared for them most of my life, having had a dog from the time I was 10 years old! I had a Golden Retriever, two Chihuahua mixes and now my current loving pup, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel named Scarlett. I started pet sitting for friends’, family members’, and neighbors’ dogs back in high school and I have enjoyed continuing to spend my time caring for other pets. I have cared for young puppies as well as an elderly dog who required special medical care due to kidney disease and a seizure disorder. I have experience with potty training, basic dog training, and administering oral medication as well as subcutaneous fluids. I live in a spacious 3 bedroom apartment with a shared fenced-in yard that is located right down the street from Forest Park. I am a research nurse with a flexible schedule who gets the joy of working from home a majority of the time.

Rachel was so great! She sent pictures regularly and Rosie looked like she was happy. I will definitely ask for Rachel’s help in the future.
Rachel is wonderful with dogs. She took care of our two. Totoro, the oldest, had some issues but Rachel handle them all like a trooper. She kept me informed of his condition and sent me many pictures and updates. I would highly recommended Rachel. She is now our official pupsitter
I feel so lucky to have found the perfect dog caretaker for my 9 month old pup Archer. We were out of town for almost a week, the longest he’s been away from him yet, and she made it a great experience for him and us! I know Archer enjoys his time with Rachel and Scarlett, highly recommend!
Rachel was amazing for our dogs! Very accommodating and flexible! It meant a lot to us to have her take good care of our boys.

Morning routine includes taking out Scarlett for a potty break and then breakfast is served. I refresh the ceramic water bowl every morning with filtered water or more frequently if needed. Scarlett enjoys her second meal in the evening. I’m happy to feed your dog on this twice-a-day schedule or adjust for your pup’s needs. Scarlett and your pup(s) are free to roam the apartment or cuddle up on the couch all day while I’m there. I take Scarlett out as needed or at least every 3-4 hours, so your pet is guaranteed multiple bathroom breaks. My shared fenced-in backyard allows for Scarlett and your dog to play outside leash free under my supervision. If weather permits, I enjoy taking Scarlett for a 30 minute walk and I would love to include your pup(s) in the pack. When I do leave, Scarlett is typically crated but your dog can either be crated or gated in the main living room. Evening routine includes cuddles on the couch, a final bathroom break, and then sleep time in bed with me.

Information Rachel C. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog requires any extra attention such as requires medication, special diet or food allergies, restrictions or concerns i.e. dog does not do well with steps, likes to chew on everything or if there is any behavior issues i.e. dog can be nervous or shy. I want your dog to be safe and have fun while in my care so any information you think is important, I would love to know!
A typical day
I live close to Forest Park so if the weather permits, I enjoy going on a walk with my dog and would love for your pup to come along! I have some enrichment activities such as a dog puzzle and plenty of dog toys for your pup to play with.

Availability
Typically my work week involves going into the office 1-2 days a week. My hours are flexible when I am in office. The other days of the week I work from home and would be able to provide low alone hours for your pup.
