Pet care experience
I do 90% of my work outside Rover from my home, and love dedicating any and all extra time to animal care, rehab and education. In addition to my own animals, I love taking care of other peoples pets and have done either in-home boarding or work for boarding kennels in the area since 2016. I have also worked with horses and exotic pets since aprox. 2017 so it's safe to say my experience with animals is extensive. I'm currently equipped to take in dogs of all sizes and breeds, and have no breed preferences when accepting dogs in my home. In fact, Bully types (including pitbulls and bullmastiffs) and Dobermans are some of my favorites! I also have experience with special needs pets, including dogs who are blind/deaf, or have cerebral palsy, megaesophagus, or cushing's disease. I live in a large home with a fully fenced in back yard for dogs to sniff and explore, relieve themselves, or for games of tug, fetch, and of course water play in the summer.
Reviews
Rachel was great with our pups while we were away for a week on vacation. She was very responsive and didn't mind giving us daily updates so that we weren't worrying. Charlie and Aly had a great time playing with Shadow and are both definitely worn out! She was flexible with drop-off and pickup times and there were no issues or surprises while we were away. She does have a parrot, but the bird is separated in another room and she communicated that arrangement to us before we arrived. Would absolutely recommend, and we will definitely be using her again!
We are really happy to have found Rachel and her sweet dog, Shadow. Rachel was responsive, organized and truly loves dogs. Our Lucy was well cared for and exhausted from playing with Shadow. We wouldn't hesitate to use her again for future boarding. Thank you!!!
Rachel is very sweet and loves our Lilly.
Rachel was great and my dog was very happy it was clear that Rachel took great care of her while I was gone. I will definitely book with her again!

Safety, trust & environment
I take pet safety seriously, and have ensured my home is as dog-friendly as possible. This includes things like not leaving two dogs unattended together, or that items such as cleaning chemicals get stored up high behind closed doors, and that human food is always put away, or dogs are gated out of the kitchen when cooking. We also exclusively use the stairwell to the garage to enter and exit the home when dogs are here, just in case there are any clever escape artists.

Information Rachel C. would like to know about your pet
I have a brief questionnaire I send to potential boarders to fill out, this is where you can tell me all about your dog(s)! I primarily need to know the basics, such as age, spay/neuter status, last vaccine date, feeding and medication instructions, and of course your dogs preferences, favorite toys or activities.
A typical day
I try to cater to your pets interests, but I have plenty of go-to activities that are practically guaranteed success. My personal favorite is just to hang out outside and get some fresh air, if the dogs aren't interested in play they're usually happy to chew up a stick or sniff around the yard. I also have a pretty generous stash of puzzle toys (kongs, lick mats, etc) and can, if owner approved, always set up something fun. If snacks aren't on the menu I'm sure every dog can find a toy, ball, rope, or something engaging they like from my ever growing playroom.

I work from home on a per-week task schedule, which means I have no daily or hourly requirements provided my work is done by the due date. This is perfect for me to do whenever I'm free or have down time from the dogs, and means work fits around the household schedule, not the other way around.
