Pet care experience
I have had dogs as small as a pug and as large as a 110 pound hound mix! I have experience with older and special needs dogs as well as young pups who require a lot of exercise and attention. Giving medication, pushing a dog in a stroller, and using a custom dog inhaler are all special needs that I can fulfill for a dog, and feel free to let me know of any other requirement your dog may have! I have also taken a puppy development/dog behavior class at University of Vermont, and feel comfortable with dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds. I've also volunteered at animal shelters my whole life and am very responsible. I do believe that a dog is a man or woman's best friend and should be treated as such.

I have known Rachel for four and a half years. During that time (and for MANY years prior, she has shown exceptional care of animals of all kinds as a job, and for friends and family. Rachel is a genuine animal lover, and I would not hesitate to leave my two dogs (large, herding-breed dogs who need attention and exercise, including off leash walks) in her care for an extended period of time. She is reliable, gentle, caring, and trustworthy. She enjoys caring for animals, especially dogs, and has experience walking them both on and off leash, socializing them with other dogs, and has taken one of her own dogs through extensive behavioral training including agility. She also has experience fostering kittens. I would highly recommend her as a dog (and pet) sitter, on a weekly basis as well as for an extended period of time. If your dog loves other dogs we could take a walk down by the waterfront or in a park. If he or she prefers more energetic hikes or jogs that can certainly be arranged to fit their personal needs in a way that provides physical and mental stimulation. I am flexible in meeting your dog's requirements. As some of the most loyal, devoted, and honest beings that exist, all dogs deserve to be taken care of (and maybe even spoiled a bit!) and should be treated with the respect and attention that you would give a friend.
