I’ve had dogs of varying breeds and sizes my entire life. I became more independent with my care around age 11 when I would take my Boston Terrier on solo walks in the park after school. I have always been very active in my dogs’ lives, whether it be going on runs, hikes, walks, feeding time, playing fetch, training, cuddles, and more. Back home in Virginia I have a mini Australian Shepherd with diabetes, so I have been trained by a veterinarian to administer insulin shots as well as regularly check insulin levels. Because of my lifelong proximity, I have experience with senior dogs, blind/disabled dogs, and puppies. Beyond personal experience, I spent a summer working in a doggy day care, volunteered for many years at an animal shelter, and am the most trusted guardian among my family and friends to take care of their pets. They know I love every animal as my own! Lastly, a quote from my friend, which may be the greatest compliment I have ever received: “I aspire to love every dog as much as you do.”
