All-Around “Animal Person”
Pet care experience
I grew up with animals and had my first petsitting jobs when I was a young teenager. Those included not only dogs & cats but also watching over our neighbor’s cattle. When I was in high school, I volunteered at an animal shelter, which is where I learned most of what I know about cats and dogs and how to work with them. I’m experienced not only with feeding and cleaning, but also giving meds. Also, I owned horses since childhood until my old gelding had a series of strokes in 2021 and I had to put him down.

From observation and experience, I know that Rachel C. has an innate rapport with animals, particularly cats, dogs, and horses. While I've never found it easy to entrust any of my children (human, feline, canine, or equine) to another person, I have complete confidence in Rachel C. to always provide great care with considerable ability, knowledge, and love. I have counted on her on many occasions, from walking my dog Pepsi, to medicating my cat Pie. Her work ethic and attitude are both unimpeachable.
I have many fur babies ages 3 years to 16 years old . All my my babies run to Rachel . She is a warm loving kind soul. I have often had Rachel sit with my babies only to come back with them spoiled ! She is my go to in pet sitter. So much so I will not go unless she can do it ! That’s how much I appreciate how loving she is with my fur babies !

I’m able to come by and care for your indoor or outdoor pets in your absence. I will do my best to follow their usual routines with feeding/watering, litterbox scooping, potty breaks, playtime, etc. If your pet is on meds, I will make sure they get the correct dose at the correct time, even if I have to make an extra trip outside of my usual hours of availability. I will respect your home and privacy. I won’t do things like eat your food or watch your TV without having been given your permission to do so. I will not ever bring any uninvited people along with me to your house. As I stated previously, if you have a feral cat colony you need fed while you’re away, I’m more than happy to fill in for you. I’m also very experienced with horses, so if you need someone to feed, clean stalls, and spend quality time with your horses while you’re away from them, it would be my pleasure to do this.

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs, medical conditions, or behaviors that I should be aware of to be best prepared for how your dog might act/react to different situations that might be encountered when walking them (other dogs, cats, people, other animals, etc).
A typical day
I can take your dog for walks around your neighborhood, and if you have a fenced yard, I can also play with your dog there, if you want me to. You know your dog best, so I will need you to let me know their likes and dislikes, favorite games, etc, and if there is anywhere I should avoid taking your dog (within walking distance from your house, as I will not be putting your dog into my car and driving them anywhere except in an emergency if anything happened that they needed to see a vet for right away).

Availability
I’m currently unemployed, but in addition to my houseful of permanent resident cats, I also take care of a feral cat colony, and I rescue and foster a lot of kittens; so unless I have neonatals I’m providing round-the-clock care to, I’m generally available any and every day of the week, from 10:00 AM until about an hour before the sun goes down.
