**Temporarily Inactive** Hello! I am a patient, caring Special Education Teacher that is looking for extra work involving something I love, dogs! I have twenty years experience including 3 years at an animal shelter and staying over night with pets of my family members and friends. I have lived with dogs and taken care of them on a daily basis. I formerly lived with a husky mix and a border collie which are both high energy pups. I am very active and enjoy exploring the outdoors with my human and dog companions. I am both very reliable and also understanding when it comes to scheduling (that comes with being a teacher and my partner, a salesman ;). Hopefully I am the match for you and your pets as well!

Rachael was so great! She was very communicative our entire trip and I felt like our pets were getting all of the attention and care they are used to. Rachael shared pictures and asked questions along the way. Our house was in perfect order when we returned as well, she was a very respectful! I would definitely use her again and would recommend her!

Rachael did an awesome job dog sitting for our two dogs. We have an almost 14 year old lab with hip issues who requires a little extra attention. Rachael went above and beyond and was a fantastic communicator. She was very tidy, and left the house just like she found it. We will definitely use her again!
Rachael is the best! She was super kind and friendly with my dog, Granby, and was beyond communicative throughout the booking. There were a couple of schedule modifications that she was able to handle without any issue. I could not be more appreciative of her services this past weekend. This means I can provide many services and even care for your house (water plants, security preferences, take in the mail, put out the trash, light cleaning etc) at an additional charge. I can also care for any other kind of animal! Turtles, birds, you name it, I’ll do it. Let me know any house rules the pets have so I can ensure that boundaries stick while you are away. Please feel assured that you will receive photos/videos while you are away. I will also send you typed messages about how the day is going/anything fun or important that comes up. I want you to know your animals are being cared for. I mean how can you enjoy time away if you don't know how your children are doing?

When I first meet with you, I will be taking detailed notes on everything so I will know exactly what your needs are when I am with them. A typical day
I love the great outdoors! I know many different hiking areas and dog parks around Richmond that are perfect for dogs that need to let energy out. I also think that "play" equals "a better brain." I will ensure engagement with your animals and spending quality time with them. If you’re dog is anxious around others/elderly, no problem. Netflix and petting your animals is just fine with me as well. Some brain games I like to play with animals are catch, tug of war, Frisbee, hide and seek, practicing commands and trying out new tricks.

Availability
I am available most weekends and after 4 p.m. during weekdays. I am available to stay at your house for overnights on the weekend. Weekdays I will be away for 8 hours except for holidays which I will update accordingly.
