My history with dogs: When I was 8 years old my family got our first dog Otis, a black lab with a calm temperment that loved people and but was otherwise a big chicken (I swear a rabbit he was chasing turned on him once and he got spooked and ran away). When he passed, we got Molly, a black lab with quite possibly the opposite personality. She was bold , loved to play with other dogs, and would literally do anything no matter the consequence to get at more food. She could actually climb the child safety fence as a puppy to get into the kitchen. I've experienced a wide range of doggy personalities as I grew up helping to raise these dogs, and I loved them both unconditionally. Unfortunately, my current lifestyle and housing situation do not accommodate welcoming a dog into my life right now, but I would still like to find a way to enjoy these wonderful animals until those circumstances change! Dog sitting history: When I was in the 5th grade I actually (with the help of my dad) printed out flyers advertising my pet sitting services and delivered them to the neighbors (these were clearly the days before fancy smart phones and dog sitting apps). I was inspired by how my own family would hire a neighbor to come over to our house a few times a day to feed Otis and to take him for a walk while we were on vacation. I got a few takers, and I got to say it was a way better job than my part time gig working at Subway ever ended up being! In highschool, I auctioned off my pet sitting services as part of our annual "youth auction" and cared for a church member's dog by visiting in the morning and evening each day to feed him and take him for a walk. The same person "won" me in the following year's auction as well! A little more about me: I grew up in Wisconsin and moved here to Minneapolis for college in 2009. I now live in Lowery hill neighborhood and work at Target in finance.
