I recently graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with my Master’s in Biology. I have my bachelor’s in Ecology, Evolution, Organismal Biology. I have always loved animals, which is why I chose to study them in school. I have learned a lot about animal care and animal function during my time in school. I did a mentorship at a veterinary clinic where I learned to handle dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments, and would always take initiative to ensure they were well taken care of before and after surgeries. I have also done work in the live animal exhibit on campus, the Dr. Gennaro Natural History Museum, where I learned to care for more exotic animals such as lizards, snakes, turtles, and fish. I have obtained a lot of book knowledge and experience with caring for a variety of species through my schooling and personal experiences. My house growing up always had at least 2 dogs to care for, and currently I have one very friendly dog in my apartment with my fiancée. My fiancée and I care for a variety of cage pets that are housed in a separate room, as well as our big furry dog of 2 years.
