Love and training!

Pet care experience

I am 33 years old and have been a life-long animal lover and owner. I have owned cats, dogs, snakes, fish and horses. I currently own 2 cats, Tom and Ashe, 1 dog, Nemo, and a small fish tank. I am active and can play and run with your dogs. Being around animals has always made me happier. I worked at a veterinary office during high school where I was a vet assistant. I walked and bathed the dogs, as well as fed and watered the cats and dogs. I helped in the exam rooms with the animals and helped administer medications when needed. When I had any free time I was always in the back spending time with the animals. I have been trained to work obedience with dogs and am a certified team in obedience and drug detection with Nemo. We are both also trained in tracking. I've even taught my cats how to do a few tricks! I would love to help you train your dog! I can include training with any visit for an additional fee. I will always do an evaluation with you and your dog first to determine the course of training. You can find me on Facebook by looking up Short Paws Pet Services. Please message me if you want more information! Life time animal exposure, medication administration during employment at veterinarian office. Trained to work dog obedience. Why I love dog sitting I have loved dogs my whole life! I have always lived with dogs with the exception of the last few years before getting Nemo, due to moving a lot and small living area. I also feel that dog sitting gives me a chance to be exposed to more dog personalities and situations, all of which can help me continue my obedience work. My experience administering medication Yes, I have had experience administering liquid and pill form of medications, as well as shots. Please let me know before hand if your pet is difficult to administer medications and if you have any tricks that work for you.

Rachael was great Mabel seemed happy after her walk this afternoon and she can be a handful sometimes. Will recommend and use again!

Rachael is a wonderful sitter for your fur baby. She is loving, kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, trustworthy, punctual, and my fur baby just loves her. Kai was learning the entire 6 days we were gone, and I feel so lucky that she was available to be there for my guy. He is doing just great with the continued training we have with her and I am so grateful we found her!

I have only great things to say about Rachael! She has taken care of my little furry friend “Chewie “ several times. She has checked in with me and sent pictures , which I’ve been happy to receive. Rachael is reliable and I feel quite comfortable leaving Chewie in her care. My only worry is that the the demand for her pet services will increase, and I’ll have to make my reservations well in advance, lol!

Rachael has loved animals from the time she was a little girl. She loves to play and interact with them. She has always helped take good care of them and even worked in a veterinarian clinic. You won't find a more caring and compassionate caretaker for your animals than Rachael.

Information Rachael J. would like to know about your pet

I do not have any breed or size preferences! I love them all! Please let me know your dogs personality! Are they shy or outgoing? Do they pull on the leash or are they well-behaved? Do they know tricks? Do you make them do anything before you feed them or give them treats? Are they highly energetic or laid back? Also, be sure to tell me if they play roughly such as nipping, jumping or holding. Knowing your dog and their individual personalities and medical history will help me know if they become sick or depressed! With that, I would like to have a list of emergency phone numbers for you and the veterinarian of your choice should something be wrong with your pet. The location of carriers, collars, leashes, muzzles and the pets experience with these tools as well as riding in a car are also very helpful should an emergency situation occur.

A typical day

Time I'll spend with your dog 30+ minutes depending on the dog. I will walk or let them outside, feed them and give them fresh water, and play with them every visit. I can do runs with them as well. I can also do more time if the dog suffers from separation anxiety or if you would prefer a longer visit. Just let me know! I can also work with younger, stubborn, or any pet to learn tricks or obedience. I have had formal training on working obedience. Extra house-sitting services I can water plants, check the mail, cycle indoor/outdoor lights, clean any messes made by your pet, etc. Please ask if there is anything else you would like me to do!
