Pet loving family, home not kennel
Pet care experience
I have 20 years of experience professionally and personally caring for dogs, cats, horses and small animals. I have worked with animal rescue, abused animals, Riding for the Handicapped and lots of different types of pets. We do this as a family so it’s not just me. We therefore can have someone with the pets nearly all the time. We have our own pets and we welcome a small amount of pets into the home to be a part of the family. This isn’t a kennel type experience but making them like part of our family. I grew up on a horse farm in Michigan with many dogs, cats, horses, bunnies, etc. I can provide pet walking or sitting services and invite dogs, cats or other animals for overnight stays at our house. We have a fenced yard with a dog door so they can access it easily, a small creek and lots of stuff to sniff. We have 2 dogs and a cat who are friendly but can be separated as needed. We can provide extra services such as dog or cat baths, special feeding needs, etc. I can transport animals in a car or a truck (even our cat loves to go on car rides). I have experience and training in some animal training, dog and horse massage, bathing and grooming and other skills though not licensed in these fields. We would love to welcome your pet to stay overnight or drop in to give your pet a walk or exercise time. We do this a family so either myself or Michele, also Rover registered, can be home. Stop in for a meet and greet to check out our family and meet the kid and our pets too. We welcome dogs into our home as if they are part of the family. It is not a kennel atmosphere. That’s also why it’s good to do a meet & greet and ensure all the pets will be happy together. Aggressive dogs aren’t safe around our child or our old small dog. Unfixed dogs we can evaluate on a case by case basis but we have had issues so we prefer dogs to be neutered.
Reviews
Thank you so much Rachael, you were so awesome, I can tell you love what you do, and I loved all the beautiful portraits of Hinar that you sent me throughout the day! We’re definitely combining back!
10/10 would recommend. Accommodating, experienced and (most importantly) KIND pet care givers. Thank you so much!
Wonderful experience. They really made sure our dog was comfortable and took into consideration her old age. Very responsive and sent pictures to put us at ease.
Rachel was so great with our Vizsla. She sent plenty of pictures and he was so happy and comfortable in her home. Thank you Rachel!

We have a fenced yard. If your dog is an advanced escape artist or needs a giant yard then this won’t be good for him. The dogs have a collar that automatically opens the dog door when they get near it so they can let themselves in and out. We don’t kennel dogs (we can crate them if they feel more safe that way) and we have them be a part of our family - on the couch, hanging out, playing, etc. We like to send lots of pictures and forward updates. If a dog shows any signs of something wrong like diarrhea, cough, won’t eat, etc we will write you via the app so you can advise. We do have other pets if our own, and sometimes another pet may be here, so let us know if your dog may have any aggressive behavior or if they need to be cared for all alone so that we can accommodate.

Information Rachael H. would like to know about your pet
I need to know if the dog is aggressive with other dogs or cats or children. If your dog is food aggressive, toy aggressive, territorial, etc this could cause fights and we need to know in advance as maybe your dog needs separated solo care. We need to know if your dog has injuries or illness beforehand. If it’s a big dog and a yard escape artist we need to test them out to make sure they can’t get out of the yard. We need to know if the dog is spayed or neutered. We need to know if there are issues with potty training. Make sure your pet has up to date shots!
A typical day
On a stay at our puppy palace, the dogs can enjoy the fenced yard area, nearby hiking trails, ball throwing (fetch), sleeping on one of the patios in the sun, getting a bath, bird-watching or smelling the many trees and logs in the small river area at the bottom of the hill. Sometimes we go hiking and if the dog is up for it we take him along with us - most dogs love that.

I work freelance and Michele just retired from the Navy and is in school online so one of us is home most of the day. Dogs and cats that stay here are part of the family, this isn’t a kennel and we try to limit how many dogs are here. They will run around the house and hang out with us all day. Isabella is 7 and helps with poop scooping and extra attention for the dogs.
