Beach? Woods? Run? Let’s go!

Pet care experience

Hey there, I’m Rachael! To say I love dogs, would be an understatement, they are my passion. A life without dogs, isn’t a life at all! Too much? Ok, I’ll tone it down. I have had dogs my entire life. They would go everywhere with us. They were more than just a ‘pet,’ they were family. I currently have my own 2 year old dog. He is a border collie/lab mix, so when it comes to tiring out a very energetic dog, physically and mentally, I am your girl. I am a before school BHP. The family I work with has a large senior mix, a medium sized mix and a Chihuahua mix. When they are out of town, I dogsit for them. Meaning, I have experience with all shapes and sizes! I am also an after school nanny. They have two high energy Golden Retrievers (ages 2+4). I have been with them since they were puppies. We are always going on adventures- hikes, beach, snowshoeing, etc. Why would your dog like me? Because I am all about positive reinforcement and having fun. Whether your dog is up for an adventure, a walk, or just needs to be let out, I will care for your dog like it were my own. Let’s chat! I would love to meet your dog! And you of course. Side notes- I have a bachelors in Psychology. I have been to obedience classes with Dax. I volunteer for a dog rescue group.

Our three dogs love Rachael! As soon as she walks in the door they are right there to greet her- eagerly wagging their tails and angling in ahead of each other to see her. Rachael takes time to greet each of our dogs individually, from our 1 yr old 11 lb mutt, to our 6 year old Tennessee rescue girl and elderly 14 year old gentle giant. We have no worries leaving our dogs in Rachael’s competent and loving care!

Rachael is a wonderful caregiver and really understands the responsibilities and needs when it comes to caring for and walking dogs. She's done an amazing job raising her rescue dog since he was a puppy and he's really become the epitome of a "good boy." She is patient, kind, compassionate, reliable, and honest. Wouldn't want anybody else walking my dog.

I can't say enough about Rachael! She is the biggest dog lover I know, and she will treat your dog like family reguarless of breed or what service she provides. Rachael has been such a positive influence on my puppy. My puppy is normally shy, but she has a natural bond with dogs where they will open up to her. She is a fur mom to a handsome, well-trained dog who plays great with others. I highly recommend Rachael, and you will feel 100% comfortable with her taking excellent care of your furry loved one!

Rachael has been dog walking and pet sitting for us for three years. She's fabulous: reliable, great with dogs, takes them on long adventures and they always come home tired and happy!

A typical day

I have lived in the Portland area for over 10 years, and have been dog walking for the past 4. I know all the greatest spots- beaches, woods, hikes, running trails, places there are a lot of dogs, places where there aren’t a lot of dogs (just in case). I am also really good at teaching my dog new tricks. Maybe I could teach yours some? Sit Pretty? Bow? Spin? I’m on it.
