Fun and active dog sitter

Pet care experience

Moving from La Grande to Coos Bay mid June of 2023! Willing to work with YOUR schedule. Very flexible times for availability. Can provide my own transportation. Can look after more than one dog at a time but if you’re not comfortable with that we can arrange something that works for all of us. I live near a park and have a wide area that can work for letting pets go potty or walking and playing around in the outdoors. Willing to walk, jog, run, or just let the puppy sit around and rest in the sunshine. Catering to you and your dogs needs to make sure everyone gets exactly what they need and want. Offering reasonable prices that works for everyone. I’m really excited to work with you and your wonderful, excitable, and beautiful pups! I work part time and go to school full time but taking care of pets is something I enjoy! Making sure your mind is at ease for extended trips, short trips, or if you just need a little extra help taking care of your fur baby. I CANNOT bring any animals into my home (it’s a violation of my lease) but I love letting the pets guide in play time and do what they seem interested in. Any rules you set forward are first and foremost and will help establish what you need from me.

First and foremost, my dog is safe and for that I am grateful. That said, unfortunately the overall dog sitting was very stressful. This was the first time that I had to leave my dog in someone else’s care outside of family or friends. I believe I did my due diligence to communicate my concerns and stress (in person and via text) to ensure that the length of my trip was not going to be an issue as it was over an extended time (2 weeks). I made sure that my expectations (such as Moose being let out once in the morning, once mid-day, and once in the evening at a minimum) were clearly communicated in person during my initial meeting with her and in writing both via text and a hand written information sheet. There was no indication before I left that she felt my expectations were excessive or could not be met. In fact, what was communicated to me was that she would be on break from work during the time frame so there wouldn’t be any major conflicts and would have plenty of time to spend with Moose walking him, hanging out reading or watching tv, etc. With that, I was not expecting her to stay with my dog 24x7 but I was expecting someone that would stay overnight with my dog and take him out/walk him at least once in the morning, mid-day, and evening for more than a few minutes. A few notable things: - Moose was left alone for over 12 hours at least three days; with no mid day take out. Having a Ring front door camera made this easy to verify/monitor. - I actually had some friends that were gracious enough to come by on numerous occasions in the middle of the day to take Moose out for a walk. During one of the mid-day walks my friend discovered that the dog sitter had left her hair straightener plugged in and on in the bathroom with the bathroom door open – a definite fire hazard had Moose gone into the bathroom and knocked it down and onto the bathroom rug - Moose was left alone overnight at least once, with no communication that this was going to happen. I was under the impression he would not be left alone overnight. I made it clear he had never been left alone overnight before and that this was a stressor for me. - Moose was removed from my home for a length of time (Dec. 21st-Dec. 27th), without any communication or confirmation that this was ok. Moose was not brought back home for multiple days despite only his food/water bowls being taken along with him (he was not spending the night at his home, where without a few pictures from Quinn I wouldn't have known he was okay) - Moose was brought around cats when I marked "unsure" on his friendliness towards them, which could have become a large problem for either Moose or the cats if he was not a very easygoing dog - A different dog food brand other than his was in his bowl upon my arrival home (after making it clear he has a sensitive stomach and is suppose to be on a probiotic) In all, I understand things come up, however communication should be of utmost importance when taking care of someone else's animal. I was consistently having to reach out for any sort of update at the end of the day. A simple text/update once or twice per day would have gone a long way to putting my mind at ease. Especially to let me know that she wouldn’t be at the house until late, had to leave very early in the morning, or wouldn’t be able to get over there during the day.

Quinn was great again with Scout and our rats! Sent photos and updates so we knew Scout was being well taken care of in our home. My husband and I came home to happy pup and happy rats.

To start off, I will encourage everyone to use someone else. Literally anyone. Communication was definitely not expected. My dog was going to be crated for a minimum of 18+ hours until we called some lovely friends who let out our dogs out. Totally didn’t know or planned on having our already-paid dog/house sitter travel 5 hours away after being at our house for only 20 mins. I am lucky to have a security system to know who has (or hasn’t) been at my house.
