I have taken care of animals my entire life. I have experience with a wide array of species, ages, sizes, & special needs. I have also spent years working and volunteering at local animal shelters. I worked as an admissions counselor & vet assistant, dealing with dogs, cats, & small mammals in a high stress environment, performing initial exams, administering vaccinations & medications, working with vet staff & local animal control to assist animals during medical emergencies & managing animals with problem behaviors. I am a fear-free certified animal handler & practice only positive reinforcement training techniques with my own pets. I have a lot of experience with dogs with special behavioral & medical needs, including shy & fearful behavior, jumpy & mouthy dogs, dog-reactivity, stranger reactivity, muzzled dogs, seniors, & dogs requiring medications. I have an 8 year old coonhound/anatolian mix with special medical & behavioral needs & a basset hound with behavioral challenges, both of whom were adopted last year from the shelter I worked at. I also have two awesome cats. No matter what your pet needs, I want to make them feel like a good boy or girl & help them have a great day every day! I can't wait to meet them!
